You said 11 starters which is incorrect. A lot of the players that sat didn’t contribute much.

Tennessee has like 11 starters sitting. Does that sound like it means a lot?

Tennessee looked like they’re not well coached. The Illini looked more physical

Fair point. It’s not 11 starters.

But it’s hard to pretend that not having your best edge rusher, an all SEC DB and your leading tackler makes no difference in a one point game.

You should bet the double wide on Indiana.

It was 4 starters for Vols and 2 starters for Illinois who sat out. Considering positional value, pretty even in terms of game impact

They need to start making playing the post-season to be a requirement for NIL checks. Its a shame we dont get watch everyone play full strength

Illinois had a few key guys sit as well.

Do you think no DC and key starters out has anything to do with that?
How about shanking a FG and a sack/ fumble for a TD?

They also didn't have their best D player DE Jakas edge rusher who led Big 10 in sacks this year and their best DB Xavier Scott all american and led Big 10 in interceptions last year was out with injury.

Bowl games are meaningless. They’re basically preseason NFL games with a bunch of 2nd and 3rd stringers battling it out. I’d be fine with bowl games going away. They got a lot of criticism and I can’t believe I’m saying this, but ND may have been on to something. Just cancel them outright or decline the invite. What good are they if a bunch of starters opt out? It stinks, but this is what college football has become.

Don't worry Bama will roll Indiana and their roster of mostly 3 stars and junior college players. Bama has 64 blue chippers on their roster to Indiana's 7 blue chippers.

They’ll never flat out cancel them. But they need to cut about 30 percent of them from the lineup. And don’t have an official W-L record attached to the results. They are just going through the motions

The Illini made more physical plays through the game. The sack, fumble, and recovery had to do with the Illini.

They looked big and physical upfront
