In the past decade, which team is the most consistently overrated?

Ohio State- Consistently ranked as a top 10 team despite getting curb stomped in BCS Championship games and almost losing (ending up vacating) their only Sugar Bowl win against an SEC team

Notre Dame-
Somehow, people not named Lou Holtz are Notre Dame believers. They are almost always ranked in the top 25 since the Tyrone Willingham era yet the closest thing they have to a signature win is the loss to USC in 2004. Their "undefeated" season last year gets quotations because it is expected for them to beat up the pee wee football teams they schedule on a yearly basis. Heck, they arguably should have lost to Navy this year

Texas- I
t has been a long while since Texas has been deserving of their lofty rankings. While they clearly have the talent to be top 5-10 teams, they often leave games on the schedule and lose when they shouldn't. While they have some good seasons (2005,2009) recently, those two good seasons were the only seasons in which Texas won the Big 12. Not quite sure how Texas deserves to start the season in the top 10-15 most years (if not top 5) despite not even being the best team in their conference most years

Oregon
- This game against Stanford is classic Oregon. Score 50+ points a game against West Montana State Technical School for the blind and get put on ESPN as the SEC killer only to be donkey punched by a group of unathletic white geeks from Stanford. Oregon is a guaranteed bet to lose at least one game every year. I remember the days of Dennis Dixon when they knocked off the all mighty USC and be ranked #1 only to end up losing a few games.

Georgia-
Oh where to begin? Georgia is just another Oregon. Unlike Tommy 'RiverBoat Gambler' Tuberville, Mark Richt's record against the top 10 has to be atrocious. His record in games he should win can't be much better either. It is hard to understand how you could fail to succeed with all the advantages the Georgia program offers. Mark Richt has mastered #TheDecline and Les Miles should take note. Somehow, Richt has kept his job at Georgia despite winning the conference championship twice when they have been favored numerous times. Sad to see a coach like Gene Chizik having more success in 3 years than Richt and UGA has had in a decade.

Virginia Tech
- While the rankings for them have started to go away, Virginia Tech and their long streak of 10 win seasons always put them around the top 10. People just didn't look closely enough to seee that their quality wins were against teams like Wake Forest and Duke

USC
Year after year, USC is ranked as a top 10 team yet they haven't capitalized since Matt Leinart won the Heisman. Considering he is all but washed up in the NFL already, it is safe to say this is a long time. Lane Kiffin even had USC ranked as high as #1 to start last year and that was a lulzfest that culminated with him being fired this year. They put out ridiculous talent into the draft that has decent success in the league but that talent can't put it together on the field in college. Sanctions end soon

Oklahoma
Self explanatory. They haven't been relevant in over a decade yet always end up being ranked in the top 10. They are relevant like Tim Tebow. Everyone talks about them during the season but when push comes to shove, they blow more than Wende in Breaking Bad and everyone knows it.

It's pretty good against Auburn.

LSU. did you see our offense the last few years? Even now, the offense should be rolling a lot better but stutters far too much. Only one thing is common all these years.

I agree on Georgia. They end up being good. But they always get some crazy preseason based on nothing. Especially like last ten years.

They love to just plop them at #8 preseason every year.

notre dame.

is there a question here?

they get artificially rated high, then get stomped in an undeserved bcs bowl game.

The fact that they're even an autobid for a bowl game is ridiculous. In the playoff format they probably have 1 of the spots reserved if they finish in the top 35.

Oklahoma is easily the most over-rated team the past decade, it's not even close.

Oklahoma hasn't won a big game of significane since their 2000 championship.

How Clemson doesn't make this list is beyond me.
