I don't even know how to respond. You just proved my point. I'm not joking. No genuine New Orleanian even thinks about Mother's. Mother's hasn't been good for 20 years. Mother's is for the tourists buddy.

Thank you for proving that you know absolutely nothing about genuine food.

Oh wow you’re being serious.

Maybe you should stick to the cheese burgers at the Risqué Cafe. I thinks that’s more your style.

Yeah I'm a troll at times and admit that, but I was genuinely shocked by this comment.

The only reason for any New Orleanian to even think about Mother's is if they want something quick before a Saints game or event at the Superdome.

Mother's is a little bit better than the junk at the Superdome, which isn't saying much.

But you just showed us that no one in Florida who is from Florida has a genuine clue what good food is. Don't ever even think about debating food again.

There's a reason Publix stops in Alabama. They know they would get buried alive by the local food scene in both Louisiana and Mississippi. Even Rouse's, which by Louisiana standards isn't that special, would absolutely eat Publix's lunch.

There are more good restaurants within 20 miles of New Orleans than there is in the entire state of Florida. Stick to generic cheeseburgers, pitiful pub subs and chicken wings ForeverGator, it's what Florida knows.

You win.

To be fair, we have no idea what that is.

I've lived in Florida for over 17 years now. Yes I like Florida a fair amount. Nice beaches, nice state parks, great springs. Nice outdoor opportunities in general. Easy to get to the Caribbean either by a quick plane ride or through a cruise line.

And no debate, it's nice not having state income taxes and a functional government.

But the one area in Florida that has always lacked is food. For a state surrounded by water, Florida does a terrible job with seafood. The vast majority of seafood in Florida restaurants has little kick and is typically very bland. Most of the seafood served in Florida restaurants would never make it on the menu in a restaurant in Louisiana or on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Florida does a lot of things right. But Florida gets food incredibly wrong. There's a reason there are New Orleans and Louisiana themed and influenced restaurants all over the U.S. And to this day I've never seen a restaurant anywhere in the U.S. being Florida themed and influenced. Not hard to figure out.

I'm not joking when I say I've had better food in Louisiana gas stations. Brother's fried chicken is better than fried chicken I've had in 4 star restaurants in Florida.

I don't miss the dysfunctional government and general BS in Louisiana. But every time I'm back, I'm reminded just how much I miss genuinely good southern food, seafood, cajun food and creole food. Outside of maybe far west Florida around Pensacola and Fort Walton Beach, you simply don't get particularly good food in Florida compared to other places in the south, especially the Gulf Coast.

I'm not arguing Florida has better food. I'm amazed you let one guy trolling you with "pub subs" influence you.

It's not just one guy. It amazes me how many Floridians worship Pub Subs like they are God's gift to sandwiches. I've tried them on several occasions and while they are fine, I just don't see the big deal about them.

It's not just one guy trolling me. So many Floridians genuinely think Pub Subs are the best when they are far from it. Some are friends who have looked at me like I'm crazy because I'll tell them I think Pub Subs are mediocre. It's truly cultish.

Both states are #1 and 2 in NFL players per capita, they were recently at least.
