In a 16 team conference, LSU finished dead last

This season. Second to dead last, last season. Let that sink in for a sec. No wonder it's turned into a women's sports school (which apparently they can't beat South Carolina WBB either).

Are they really going to hire a coach that’ll fix it with as much as they’re spending on football? LSU basketball has to die in order for LSU football to have a chance.

I think I saw where all in cost to fire McMahon would be about $25 million.
So, they will probably keep him another season cause they are house poor after paying BK and Kiffin

So we're going with the "LSU is poor" theme again? It's worked out so well for y'all in the past ...

LSU has no problem dropping $200 million on paying off coaches, paying new coaches and buying a roster.
If you think that means they have another $50-75 million to upgrade basketball, go for it. You’re delusional.

There's no doubt LSU is broke. It was a scramble to get the money they did get for football. They were begging Kelly to take less.

As delusional as we were about having the money to get rid of Kelly? That delusional?

Yes. This has always been the angle. Even your governor confirmed this was true.

If you don’t fire a basketball coach who has finished 14th, 7th, 15th, and 16th - two dead last finishes in 4 seasons - you are poor.

When things went south with Kelly countless posters on here (mostly Bama fans) stated that we didn't have the money to pay Kelly's buyout because Louisiana is poor, we couldn't afford to hire Kiffin, and we didn't have the money to pay for the top ranked portal class for the second year in a row. Now it's the same tired refrain with the MBB team. This thread has been bookmarked.

LSU has $133 million less today than they did 4 months ago.
Kelly buyout: $54 million
Woodward buyout: $6 million
Kiffin guaranteed contract money: $73 million
LSU athletics generated $223 million in total revenues in FY25 from all sports. Expenses were about the same. They basically broke even.
Despite this, LSU spent $133 million on a coaching change, over half of it due within the first year. Combine that with a $20.5 million profit sharing expense this year and LSU athletics is going to lose millions in FY26.

Did you also bookmark that parody twitter account you thought was real?
When LSU posts their FY26 financials in July I am just certain you will want to discuss them. With all the red ink on a white background it very likely will trigger you.

Many Alabama posters here are broken and obsessed, with Rainman is leading the way
