This is dumb. We don't want to be removed from the SEC. And the SEC shouldn't be short sighted enough to think they would be better off without LSU.

We both enrich each other. And to make a call like expulsion from the league over half time jokes to Holly Rowe is unbelievable.

LSU's brand appeals to the bottom third of income earners in a very specific geography that doesn't even span Louisiana.

But I will give you the lower academic standards.

Notre Dame is able to exist/prosper as an independent for several historical and/or off the field reasons, none of which apply to LSU

Without Saban, LSU's run from 2003-2011 never exists as Miles was winning with the foundation that Saban laid. Outside of that, what is LSU historically?

Are they even better than Auburn? I guess they both have a fluke championship last decade with transfer QB in common

No one knows who lsu is outside the Deep South. You’re probably the most insular school in the SEC outside of Mississippi state. Zero name recognition to anyone who doesn’t follow college football.

Which media member will decide to give LSU 67 million a year, which is what ND currently pulls in (which is 5 less than the current SEC deal) ?

Do you really think ESPN/Disney will do it, knowing that there is a SEC rights deal coming up? Fox, where they are better off doing nothing and waiting for LSU to go to the B12 and paying less while reinforcing the B12 brand at the same time?

So are we thinking CBS / Paramount+? TNT / WBD? Amazon Prime?

None of those are viable without the special CFP revenue carve-out that ND has and some sort of legit scheduling agreement.

I don’t think any of it is real but just to entertain the idea, lsu independence would be an absolute nightmare unless you found a conference willing to give you a no football all other sports spot. I think lsu could easily get sun belt with no football. Don’t think acc or big 12 is taking that deal but big 12 might. Football you need to get nd on board with starting a series. Target acc and big twelve schools that want a resume booster(fsu, Miami, Clem, vt, nc st). Team up with yormark(outside the box guy) see if he’ll do a 3-5 game a year rotation. It could be done but it’ll be more work for less money and a lot of headache
