I'm disappointed Loston hasn't done more. Poppa was a freak coming out of HS.

Let us know when Florida's offense looks anything like West Virginia's.

I'd but it like this:

DL= LSU

LB= Bama

CB= LSU

S= Bama

Well, Brantley had the first pass that was right on the money. There is no defending that pass....especially if Lester is fricking off instead of helping over the top. After that, there were a few more passes that were completely deep because blitzes didn't get there in time, but most of that stopped even before Brantley was knocked out.

Also remember, Geno Smith threw for 450+ yards on LSU. LSU's dbs are magnificent, but they aren't perfect.

Upshaw rushes the passer so much I've a hard time giving LSU DL advantage.

LSU has a glut of beasts on the DL. Montgomery, Adams, Freak, Brockers, Logan. . .

It is sick how much talent and depth we have.

Upshaw is probably better than anyone we have, but our unit is better. I think Montgomery is the closest to Upshaw we have.

Mathieu isn't really a cover corner. He's pretty much a straight up nickel back. Tharold Simon is our other cover corner. 6'3'' with great cover skills. This pretty much allows Mathieu to do whatever the frick he wants, which is why you always see him in the backfield. And Loston rarely even plays. Taylor is extremely underrated at the safety position. I'd say he's by far the smartest player in the secondary. Reid is pretty much a heavy hitter. Even Ron Brooks plays over Loston.

Good info, sorry about the mix up. And i'd give your nickle package a slight nod because you're 5th db is going to be better than Milliner. I heard so much about Loston in the preseason for some reason I thought he was still playing and have been attributing a lot of Taylor's stuff to him I guess even though i've got him listed with Reid, lol. He is great though, no doubt. I've seen that this year.

They aren't, but no one will play that style offense against LSU the rest of the season.

They threw quick passes all game. We didn't have time to get pressure on the quarterback.

Every time we played bump and run and blitzed, we forced an incomplete pass. We just didn't do that a lot because that just isn't Chavis' style.

I know they didn't look good that game, but unless Alabama or Florida adopts West Virginia's offense, then I'm not too worried about that.

Auburn could give us some trouble.

We look at Upshaw as more of a LB is probably why we concede the DL to LSU. Square, Chapman and Jessie Williams have done so much better at rushing the passer this year than we've seen in previous years. And Gentry gets in the backfield all the time.

That was scheme, not talent or technique.

True, but it has to worry you a bit that Chavis can't adapt. One thing I noticed with him at UT and at LSU is you can always tell VERY early if it's a good Chavis day or a bad Chavis day. If the O coordinator has his number then it's usually bad times for whatever team he's coaching

A lot of WV's yards came from missed tackles. I'm worried that LSU's defensive backs go for the kill shot too much.

You need to wrap up against Bama.

Yep. I don't like that about Chavis.

It's almost like he just rolls out 11 awesome players and just rushes 4, with the occasional blitz.

You can get away with that if your players are that good, and if you have depth up front. But I'll admit it worries me sometimes. I feel like there's going to be a game where we have to get more pressure, so hopefully he can realize that and adjust when that time comes.

I hate complaining about Chavis, because his defenses are just so damn consistent. But sometimes I just can't help myself.

We did miss some tackles that game. I feel like we might have gotten complacent after getting a big lead.

Against Oregon, we made literally every single open field tackle. It was amazing to watch.

Those two teams probably have more talented players on the perimeter than Alabama does. We'll just have to see.

That's a definite, lol. WR is the weakest part of our team aside from K/P

LSU has some tough games prior to Nov 5. We should not even talk about this until we are sure they have not blown it.

P.S. The one thing no one mentions about defense is that Saban is much better defensive mind than Chavis.

That little fricker Tavon Austin was way better than I expected him to be.

And yea, I kept telling everyone that our kicker is what could keep us from winning a national championship. Then I saw that y'all's kicker sucks too, so at least I know we're even there.

LSU and Alabama's upcoming games look a lot alike. They are no more likely to blow one than we are. Both teams would have to absolutely shite the bed to frick up the SEC Superbowl
