Actually it's not a "legal" hit anymore. It's been a point of emphasis to not allow shots on the QB after INTs by the NCAA. It's the whole defenseless player rule. Unless he's actively involved in attempting to make a play (not just jogging in the direction of the play) no player can be hit from the blind side. Same rule in the NFL after the Saints knocked the shite out of Kurt Warner in the playoffs. I'd be surprised if he doesn't get suspended for it. And for the record I personally think it's just part of the game.
Wrong. NCAA has no rule protecting the QB as a defenseless player at all times like the NFL.

Yup, led with the shoulder, not the helmet. Lolz at these dumb cry babies in this thread.

It was a cheap shot plain and simple. It should have been called clearly.
At least, Murray didnt whine and cry about it like McCarron did when he was tapped earlier in the game.
Its amazing how often Bama never gets clear penalties called. There was so much holding by the bama line in that game, as its been all year and never gets called...
Its starting to get really obvious imo....

He heard Danielson say that and thought for once that Gary knew what he was talking about.

Checklist to beating Bama
Win in these 4 areas to be successful:
Offense
Defense
Special Teams
Officiating
When playing Ole Miss, showing up is all that is required!

Did you see the 2 take down holds on UGA go uncalled when Gurley ran in from the 10 for a TD? Did you get butthurt about those?
Did you see the uncalled PI against UGA that directly took at least 3 points off the board for Bama and gave UGA 7 from the ensuing blocked FG? Did you get butthurt about that?
Did you?

You know you are seriously filled with hate when you can watch an animated gif cycling over and over and STILL see something different than what is happening.
I honestly feel sorry for some of you. I am not unbiased, and I admit that I sometimes see things in a way advantageous to my team, but to hate a team so much that you are in sheer desperation 24 hours a day to find ANY way to discredit their success....DAMN.
I thought Bama and auburn hated each other. I never imagined that LSU could take it to an even deeper level.

Rule 9-1-4: Defenseless Player: Contact to Head or Neck Area
ARTICLE 4. No player shall target and initiate contact to the head or neck area
of a defenseless opponent with the helmet, forearm, elbow or shoulder. When
in question, it is a foul (Rules 2-27-14 and 9-6)
for you're reading pleasure
A defenseless player is defined as one not directly involved in a play, as in Murray jogging in the direction of the INT, so therefore he was a defenseless player and it should have been a penalty by rule. Now again, i disagree with the rule, but it is the rule.

Cue all the "butthurt" and comments from Bama fans.....
It's almost comical how much Bama gets away with.......and it will continue as long as the rest of the SEC allows it.
I'm hoping the Title game officials even it out some and we get to see the Tide fans whine afterwards about all the shitty calls.

Some have conceded it may have been a little cheap, but that doesn't equal illegal.

They clearly hate us more than they love LSU. So in a way this is what they really want. Something that really draws out the emotion.

Thank you. That exact rule specifies DEFENSELESS player you idiot. The NCAA doesn't define a QB going to make a tackle as a DEFENSELESS player like the NFL does.
LEARN THE DAMN RULES

Last year in the title game when we whooped your arse we only had one penalty all night. Are the Big XII offices in Birmingham too?
