Nuss throws interception and is running towards the play. Gets shoved and sells the hit like he was blindsided. Since he is a QB it gets the call.

STFU.... had missileToe and bama been in that situation, you and your Gump brothers would be screaming PERSONAL FOUL!

If blindside block wasn’t called against LSU earlier they would have let this slide. But the SC hit was twice as blatant as LSU’s shoulder block the previous quarter.

Lead with hands, by rule, no penalty

They know they lost this game and had an ungodly amount of health to squeak by. It’s sad.

Oh you’re so mad lol. Guess you won’t talk about the blocked punt that was a penalty as well that the refs blew.

We might’ve lost this game but thank the Almighty Lord I didn’t grow up in or have to go back to Louisiana after.

Three flags were thrown immediately after the hit on the LSU quarterback during the interception. Three refs were watching the quarterback.

I know it sucks for South Carolina fans but the days of getting a free hit on the quarterback during an interception appear to be over.

If someone in the NFL made that exact same play they get fined the next day.

LSU is flop U.
Bama players don't flop to beg for penalties

Based on that, it should have been targeting.

Also the horse collar wasn’t horse collar. No pad was grabbed.

The rule says pads or jersey so that one was correct.

I thought it didn’t need to be called because the defender/blocker actually led with his hands.

It wasn’t a launch.

Launching is related to targeting. The penalty was a blindside hit, which it was.

i see this called all the time.

I'm still unclear what the penalty was.

It wasn't a block in the back... as he wasn't blocked in the back.

It wasn't/shouldn't have been a blind side hit... because a blind side hit by rule requires "forcible contact" and by definition any contact initiated with the hands is NOT forcible contact. Nuss was shoved with the hands by the blocker.

I realize it was ruled an unsportsmanlike conduct foul of some kind, but UC is a category, not an infraction. For example, you can have UC - roughing the passer... the actual infraction is roughing the passer. It's just classified as unsportsmanlike conduct.

So what exactly did the blocker do that was wrong if it wasn't a blindside hit or a block in the back?

Then why wasn't it called that? He was flagged for a personal foul.

Here's the signal for illegal blindside block. That is not what was called.

Please tell me how THAT CONTACT, if not a blindside was "unnecessary roughness"?

The most telling part is Pussmier stands their for a few seconds and then takes off for the ball carrier. IMHO, this makes him fair game to block by SC.
