Top 5 recruiting class doesn't mean much if you don't recruit the lines. You can have three 5 star receivers out there but if your line is filled with bums, the receivers are kinda useless. With few exceptions, that has been LSU's problem for more than a decade. Great talent but not spread throughout the entire team. There are usually a few glaring holes that get exploited.

This board for months watch all the ingredients of a dumpster fire come together. Hell 2020 should have been harbinger for LSU folks alone. Nope we've seen poster after poster from LSU convinced themselves and tried to convince this board 2020 didn't matter.
Negatives.

I don't disagree with any criticism of retard LSU fans who somehow thought LSU was going to be a top ten team this year. Last year should have been a wake up call.

I also don't disagree that there were a fair contingent of LSU fans who willfully deluded themselves into believing that Oregon could be another Dabo. But he hasno Venables willing to prop him up - and I think Dabo is a more mature person with more integrity and the discipline to lead a program instead of chase tail.

In our defense, anyone who watched the process in 2016 would know that a sizeable contingent of LSU fans were vehemently against his hiring and remained skeptical about him even after 2019. The coaching changes board and the rant were bloody battlefields that were lost because of Alleva's lack of leadership meant no proper coaching search ever took place.

This will surely suck this year. I personally think that LSU has to go 5-7 or worse for Ogre to be fired. But he's possibly up to the task. And there's also the chance that Ed was dumb enough to screw up title 9 compliance and get fired for that instead of his mere ineptitude as a coach or leader of men.

That is the sips problem as well, but they play in the BDF so they can get away with it to an extent

You go over to the Tiger Rant (carefully, mind you) and 9 out of 10 posters want his arse fired before the season ends. It was 19 months ago and he was the Messiah....
He wasn't ever "The Messiah" to non-alcoholic adults with an education in the LSU fan base.

We always knew what he was and were not fooled one bit.

2019 was awesome, but we knew it was absolutely "Lightning in a Bottle with the Planets aligning" (BTW, Steve Ensminger found Joe Brady with the Saints and Safties coach John Busch knew the Burrow Clan from his contacts in Ohio)

Only the psychotic Pump Lump Cheerleaders, (Lump is an LSU version of an Alabama Gump) MA's (Mediocrity Acceptors) and Orgeron Sycophants support Captain Ed. The problem is that there are a lot of those in the fan base. (Dumb As Georgia Red Clay Dirt Luzianner Lifers)

It doesn't matter though, because the gig is over. I doubt if he even lasts the entire season because Woodward is not a fan of his and wants his own HC in there; only a matter of "When" the ax falls, not "If." (It wouldn't surprise me at all if it happens after the first bad home loss)

Like I keep saying repeatedly, keep an eye on Lafayette Junior College of Southwest Louisiana because Napier is the most logical (And qualified) candidate to be the HC in 2022. (There's a reason he turned all those jobs down recently)

When they announced Pelini hire I posted on her that it was a terrible decision.

There wasn't a single Tiger who agreed.

Delusional fanbase.

Even his recorded tirades get back to his higher ups. And this was before his "sissy shirt" comment.
The next 6 weeks will be interesting.

Literally your administration banned a former player because he had audacity to pass out money on national TV.

Not even close to ranking with the great teams of the past, that went on multi year winning streaks. The 2019 was a fluke with a yankee Ohio State QB.

As some posters said, last year Orgeron got the benefit of the doubt because of the goodwill from ‘19 coupled with the chaos of the pandemic. Only a team as deep and loaded as Bama could basically not miss a beat with that chaos. Which is a credit to what Saban has established there. Most fans were willing to forget ‘20 but expected a return to a competitive team this season. What was on display against UCLA simply established in many fan’s minds it was ‘19 that was the anomaly, not ‘20. With a track record of poor hires, the poor product on the field, and his off the field conduct, it is not surprising the goodwill has quickly evaporated. BTW, I don’t think this makes the LSU fanbase at all unique.
