I don't think we should pay these players shite.
If that means having a lousy team that loses every game, I'm okay with that.
Cfb has gotten so ridiculous I don't care anymore, and I don't want to see Alabama juicing their boosters and fans to try to scrap together enough millions to make a championship run.
frick it.

You were fine with it when Saban was paying and y'all were winning championships

Wow nothing gets by you. You're a fricking genius.
I'm trolling so fricking hard rn by having a legit opinion on college football, and posting it on a discussion forum.

"Saban was the only one in cfb giving out free cars to recruits. He was a shitty coach who only won because he gave out Dodge Chargers, and nobody else dared to ever pay college players except Saban.
It's the exact same thing as today when every player has an agent and QBs are getting paid millions per year. Now Alabama sucks because everyone can pay players - not just Saban."

I never said Saban was the only one paying players. But there were much fewer teams doing it than now. That isn't debatable

Saban paying players wasn't unique, but the freedom players had under Saban (and early Kirby) was significantly different. Alabama is still paying players but they can't keep 5* after 5* on the bench anymore with shitty transfer rules.
And yes, unlimited transfers has its own set of problems. But in the mid 2010s, coaches could significantly limit a player's transfer options. Not only did they have to sit out, but a school could dictate what schools they could and could not transfer to and be on scholarship.

You've been here for less than a week and yet you are at the same time claiming you are done with football.

I’m with you. I miss the days when LSU players played for the love of LSU. This crap sucks. I’ll be fishing a lot more.

Every team in the SEC (maybe save Vandy) was doing it and was doing it for decades. Every single student who actually went to an SEC school knows this. Every. Single. One.

Exactly. but the amounts were FAR less. Maybe a blue chip recruit would get a Dodge Charger, and a bag man would deliver $40k to the family.
Nothing at all like it is now with millions flying around, and agents shopping the portal.

why does the amount matter

Bet you would be singing a different tune if bammer were still playing

You don't run to the internet to talk about things that you aren't talking about anymore?

It may sound crazy, but....nope.
However, I think posting here actually adds to my interest in football.
I dread football season being over because it's gonna turn into baseball and basketball and I don't watch either of them.

Since you are done with college sports, goodbye.
