I would die after a few miles.

I guess runners aren't the brightest bulbs, such as this one by his own admission. And you ever see a runner having fun? They look like torture victims.

Dude I'm gonna save you the trouble of all that worrying and enjoy your run..
The game will be tied with less than 20 seconds Florida will have the ball the official will miss a blatant double dribble before a wild bank shot 3 goes in at the buzzer. There, you can enjoy your run now.

OP-let me tell you about this amazing device they call a portable radio. They fit in half of the palm of your hand these days and even have small earphones to listen with. Welcome to the 20th century, baw.
If you want to move into the 21st century, let me tell you about streaming a game or listening via Sirius radio on your cellular telephone. Wirelessly, no less!!

Yeah... I know it could be done. A couple of issues though: radio = extra weight and may or may not actually connect at any point out in the woods. Phone - mine will be in airplane mode to make sure the battery doesn't go dead in case I need it for emergency. Yes, I could bring portable battery charger and add the extra weight, but I wouldn't. When running for 24 hours, every ounce matters.
As for others responses questioning the sanity of participating in such an event - yeah I have no argument. Somehow doing insane things helps me keep my sanity. I won't win any money. I'll receive a belt buckle and some kudos on strava.

He could go to Keeneland and do better than that. Plus still be able to watch the games. $270 at The track and you may leave with some money. Great day, beautiful women, fast horses, bourbon and no pain.

I never would question this. Kudos to you for doing it. I’d just find the lightest portable radio I could find and go from there. Here are a couple wired ones:

It looks like anything with Bluetooth will be heavier.

I gave my doubt about this. A half marathon is 13.2 miles. A full narathon is 26.2.
Youre trying to convince us that you are running 100 miles in two days? On trails which is harder?
I call bullshite unless its a relay or something

you are mistaken, tRant poster BoCam2
the biggest game in AU MBB history occurred last March, when AU lost in the first round to Yale
by coincidence, it was also the biggest game in Bama MBB history
at least thats the impression i get from reading this board

Ultramarathons are not that uncommon. Not sure why it seems unbelievable these days. It's a niche sport, but millions do them every year now. Also, "running 100 miles" isn't entirely accurate. I will travel 100 miles, but a considerable amout of it will be walking/power-hiking to recover or take in fuel.

The timing for my run turned out either perfect or terrible for me. I finished me 3rd 20 mile loop with about 2:30ish left in the game and AU down 3, so I stopped and watched WCjr dominate the end until it was obvious AU had no chance of coming back. I haven't watched the game or even highlights yet, but was told it was a very competitive game with AU leading most of the way. Congrats to UF... I'll root for you guys vs UH.
Also, I finished the race in 25 hours, 34 minutes.
