I know some ranches used to have .30 cal min requirements for Nilgai so keep that in mind.

Not sure how strict they are on that with the new calibers like 7 PRC though.

Barnes 180 TTSX

I can shoot Nilgai all year long so usually hold out for a very large mature bull and my 550 lb scale is not big enough to weigh them.

This is out of my Falkor so it’s a shorter barrel. Think it’s a 20 inch or could be 18 inch.

I shot higher than I wanted to on one of them and the blood trail was drips for the first 15-20ydsthen opened up right at the end. The other two were shot lower and bled just fine.

I’ve never had a pass through on a big bull with a .300 win or .338.

Maybe I need to start shooting them with my .270

All the shots have been under 100 yards.

I hate that shite. End of February for a 1099? It's a good thing they are better for a trading platform than the bookkeeping. That is literally the only thing holding up my filing.

I had to file an extension last year and didn’t get taxes done until probably September or October time.

Paid the estimated owed in April then cut an additional check in October. Then they hit me for interest on what the difference owed was back to April.

I’ve got my upstairs family room as my trophy room currently but will be converting a bedroom into a hidden speak easy with some of my bigger animal mounts and moving my bourbon into that room. I’ve got a Juliet balcony that I will be able to step out on a smoke a cigar if needed.

This is an AI pic of what what I kinda want it to look like.

I will have some hallow tech on the wall to the right and have a few guns in there. Going to have to get creative to figure out how to display all the bourbon because I have a lot more than what’s in the picture.

It’s only a single door entrance and that will be behind a wooden wall or bookcase at the top of my stairs.

This is current trophy room.

Need to tone down the lights to a cooler color but have been lazy. Everhing was the old school cans and I had my electrician switch to the newer cans because evening was so dim. He went brightest setting in the entire house and I need to flip them all to medium.

I am convinced that Great Danes have a built-in atomic clock and GPS system at birth. It is uncanny how the two we have had live with us (one gone over the rainbow bridge, one still lying on his couch as we speak) seem to do it. They also have a large vocabulary, and you have to be careful what you say if you don't want to start something.

My Danes are like this with feeding time also. What I don’t get is when we are going to take them for a walk they get really excited like they know. We keep the leashes in the garage and we can be around that area and they are fine but the days we walk them they get super excited when in the area.

One of my Danes has learned the timer on my oven so he’s always there to help me get the food out of the oven
I changed the channel.
Watched Momento today for the 1st time.

Can’t believe I missed this one. Was a great movie.

Following and Interstellar are the only Nolan movies left that I haven’t seen.

Are they worth a watch?

Congrats! That’s a beast.

When we had our company lease in mountain home, the rancher we leased from wiped them all out because he was tired of them destroying all the feeders. I’m talking legs made of our sch 40 carbon steel and they would destroy every one of them. We still had a few get back on the 1400 acres here and there and they were fun to chase.

We must have nice ones

If they started tearing up feeders we would probably go after them hard.

I’m hoping to get one eventually because I’d hate to pay for this lease and then pay to go on a hunt for one. Problem is they smoked all the good rams that were just below trophy status. Going to have to wait a few years unless something comes in from another place.

Rise….with all of these exotics on your lease, how do y’all manage who gets to kill whst animal(s)? It seems like just one person could frick everything up for everyone else

Landowner had 12 bucks and 12 does written into the lease with unlimited exotics.

They shot them because they thought they would damage feeders but those things are $3500 to $5000 for a trophy hunt.

We changed the lease rules to:

1 trophy buck, 1 management buck, 2 doe

Sika will be 1 trophy buck 1 doe. We agreed to let them grow so they mature and the herd grows. The exception is if you see a trophy sika 8 points or better you can shoot it.

Aoudad 1 mature ram and 1 ewe.

Axis 1 trophy buck and 1 doe

Any other exotics you can shoot whatever because we don’t really have a herd. We have seen a black buck doe and couple chocolate fallows.

What does a mature ram weigh in your area?

I have no clue but they are pretty big.

Probably 200 to 300 lbs depending on maturity.

Surprised that feeder is still standing, they are some destructive mf'ers. Cousin in the hill country has beefed his feeders up to bear proof level and they are still tearing it up.

Haven’t had any issues yet. We had a really good herd but my lease mates killed close to 12 the first year so they have been thinned out pretty good.

I haven’t shot one yet because I’m waiting on a hammer that I can mount and everything they killed was between 27-30 inches with a few ewes.

I’ve got them on my lease. Takes about 10 years for them to reach maturity.

About double the time of a whitetail. I’ve had jerky made out of one and it wasn’t bad

Don’t be a fricking retard.

Better yet, you and her should just use salt rounds from here on out.
Bird shot would ease her anxiety about shooting another person, and knowing that maybe it won't end up with her having to deal with taking a life, justified or not.

This is retarded. If you were a real man with a set of nuts, this is where you tell them what to do.

You load the gun, you take them to practice with said gun. frick their feelings because chances are she will never have to use it.

It's more for her, and she tends to panic more than focus in tense situations, so I'm not sure about a gun that is "aim and shoot" over a "point in the direction and shoot". quote: with easy access to a shotgun loaded with #1 buckshot and no plug I like the idea of bird shot followed by a more lethal option in case the bird shot doesn't run them off or incapacitate their will to continue. I've always believed that a warning shot is kind of bullshite unless it comes with the lesson that they aren't scared to shoot you. Pelting someone with non lethal (as best as it can be) ammo pretty much leaves them with no room for doubt about your willingness to harm them

If you pull the trigger it’s to kill. I want the most lethal ammo and birdshot is not it. Buckshot for home defense shotgun.
