If your BBQ needs sauce, then your BBQ sucks

Burnt ends are the king of beef BBQ. Pork is good but 2nd fiddle to king beef.
Saucy ribs are trash. shite should be juciy without needing sauce. Means you suck as a cook.
Also you should know that south carolina BBQ is vomit fuel.
Memphis BBQ is overrated as frick.
Kansas City/Texas is best.

I'd be willing to bet your experience with South Carolina BBQ is limited to non-existent. Again, Columbia is home to the worst BBQ in the state. But Eastern Carolina BBQ, in both North and South Carolina, is delicious.

Generally you're right.
Sauce should always be served on the side. Also, sweet bbq sucks. Pork, beef, chicken, it doesn't matter.
Good bbq is savory not sweet. If you want sweet use a sauce as a condiment.

I like how nobody mentions we also do pulled beef and pulled pork here in tx as well. And we also use sauce and no sauce.

I'm not a sauce person myself. I don't put steak sauce on a steak and I don't use sauce when I eat BBQ.
Just a personal preference, others may be the opposite and I doubt there is a right or wrong answer here. Each to his or her own.
