No. He isn't NFL quality no matter where he goes. I would stay and keep my car and money instead of having Saban send his thugs to rob me at South Alabama.

If he leaves before game 1 because Tua was named starter he wouldn’t be a grad transfer yet would he? I mean I guess he could wait the whole year and then transfer, I don’t know.

He enrolls at Bama for the fall semester. He would then need to complete the fall semester to graduate in Dec no mater what happens with football.

He isn't that speedy. Most years I would love to have Hurts, but for this season I'll take Stidham all day. We return 1 OL, no RB, but return every single WR... Ill stick with the QB who can actually get the ball to our extremely talented WRs.

Mmm. That is going to be a hard row to hoe with just one returning OL. I assume y'all have solid but unproven players to step up but those first few games could be rough while they get used to things.

Yeah, better to go with a solid passer who can get the ball out quick in that case. Back some of the defenders off with the passing game and then unleash the running game. The good news is that your defense should give you time to iron out the problems with new players on offense.

Vanderbilt. I can't reveal the reasons on a public message board, but trust me, they're really irrefutable reasons.

Unless he is a grad transfer none of those schools outside of Texas has a shot.

He's probably not going to start at a Football power at qb.

He's more of a Louisville, central Florida type player.

Texas would love to have him. Herman/Beck treat our QBs like battering rams. Hurts is built for that much more than our current QBs

No way Saban releases him to an SEC team.

I wouldn't care to see him at Florida, but I think he'd do well considering what Mullen looks for in QBs.

Could Hurts even beat out Malik Willis, Joey Gatewood, and Bo Nix in 2019?

Because I kind of doubt it.

You're either trolling or an idiot. With you it's so hard to tell, so I'm gonna go with both.

Could the 2016 SEC Offensive Player of the Year who is 26-2 as a starter, has almost 5,000 passing yards, 1,800 rushing yards, 61 TDs, and 10 INTs in 2 seasons beat out a couple of guys who haven't played any real college ball and a HS SR?

I don't think he's either, it's a legit question.

Right now, sure Hurts would beat out those guys. But is Hurts better than what we'll get out of 1 or 2 of those guys? I don't know that.

I'll give Hurts the benefit of the doubt that being in a Saban program would have lingering impacts, but the truth is that Saban is going to get a lot out of solid-but-not-exceptional players.

It’s unlikely that Saban would let him transfer to another SEC team . Would he even play for another team ? He would have to sit out this year if he transfers and then he could go pro after this season. His dad seems to think Hurts is the best QB ever so it’s not crazy to think dad will tell Jalen to enter next years draft. He could go juco and then he would be able to go to an SEC team like Newton, Kamara and others . His best fit would be GT where he doesn’t have to pass much . but his ego will push him to sit on the bench for another team that runs more of a pro style offense.

I don’t get people saying he would be a great fit at UF with Mullen . Mullen’s system needs a big power QB .

Me too. I legit think if for whatever reason in some hypothetical scenario he's the starter all year that he plays well (2,500+ yards passing, 750+ yards rushing, 35 total TDs, 10- total turnovers).

He's legit. He is a really, really good player. And he's proven. Some of us just happen to think Tua's better and has the higher ceiling, but that doesn't mean we don't think Jalen is still a player who can win us games.

I guess my overall point is that it's really hard for another school to gauge how good a player would be for their school based on what he can do in Saban's program.

Auburn makes good use of transfers from far lesser programs, so I'm sure he'd do well, but I just don't think it's apples to apples to look at QBs at Bama and extrapolate.
