It's pretty much even. As of three years ago SDS did a ranking putting everything into account. Miss State was the worst overall program.

Since when is the 27th ranked class in the country an outstanding class? That's just ridiculous. It may be good for state, but that's not anywhere close to being outstanding. Everyone knows state is a joke and that mullen did as well as he could there. It's a stepping stone job for a reason. However, the jury is out on how he will do as the head coach at a big time program with big time expectations and pressure that comes with a job like that.

Agreed. He did well here his first class, especially during ESP having the effect it did.

However; it's not like he doesn't know the pressure at UF. He coached here.

He also knows how to handle the SEC media, etc. He's done it.

He isn't learning new things now. He already knows what he needs to do. Which helps the transition a lot.

I have no clue if he wins anything big here. Won't say it till I see it. However; saying his cap is 10 wins at UF when he did it at Miss State...is ridiculously stupid.

Yep, Dan only had a winning record in conference play at State once. 2014. All of the other years he was 4-4 or worse.

I sense the fear of Mullen from UGA. Those half chubs will quickly turn to blue b**ls after kickoff and then it’ll be a painful trail of tears back to St. Simons.

Ah. You are right.

I guess Nick Saban sucks too.

After all..wasn't elite at Michigan State

James Franklin?

That dude sucks...he should have beaten five number 1 teams at Vandy!! Joke of a coach

Screw Spurrier at Duke...he could never win in the SEC it's not the ACC.

Am I doing this right? Miss State has a limit. Mullen made that limit. He set the standard for the school going forward.

Still, only so much you can do with such a shitty program. I know Georgia fans are new to football, but this is how it works. Miles wasn't elite at Oklahoma State...but he had a pretty nice seven years at LSU till going crazy.

But you know...he wasn't elite at an average school. Sooooo he sucks too.

Correct?

Yet he will only do the exact same at UF? A program capable of winning multiple national titles, and being the second most dominate program in the SEC the last thirty years?

UF had their MNC success with elite recruiting. This is the least talented UF has been since maybe the 70's.

No it's not. We weren't stud recruiters in the 80's either. We had some great players, but overall we would have been 10-20 rated in class rankings probably.

We aren't were we expect to be yearly, but that can happen soon enough. Mullen getting a full year should help, he did well with a transition class where he had to recruit completely different players at certain positions. Who knows. We will see. I am simply saying the idea he can only win ten games at a substantially better program is rather absurd. If he can do it there, he can surely do better at UF. Even if we aren't at the traditional blue chip level, we have far more "blue chip" talent than Miss State still.

He needs a talent infusion to do better. The 2019 class will tell us a lot.

UF was a 1st round pick factory in the 80's:

1983: 1
1984: 1
1985: 2
1986: 2
1987: 1
1988: 1
1989: 3
1990: 1
1991: 1

Urban Meyer went 11-1 against UT and UGA (6-0 vs. UT, 5-1 vs. UGA). You think Mullen is going to do better than that.

Well there's your problem. Saturday Down South is fricking awful. They put Vandy 11th. State has finished in the top 25 15 times. Vandy has finished in the top 25 3 times. It ain't even a contest.

11th MSU
12th USC
13th Kentucky

14th Vanderbilt

This Mullen circle jerk is stupid, can we please let this coach win the SEC first. Lots of these same things were said with the last two guys. We have no idea how Mullen will do with a big program with expectations. Stop setting yourselfs up for disappointment and let this one play out.

We heard the same thing prior to 2012 and 2015. Granted we lost you in 2012 but that ended up being a very good team. The 2015 team going into the pre-season was supposed to be the worst team in UF’s modern history routed UGA.

There’s always talent at UF. It’s just a matter of whether we have a coach who can utilize it and maximize it.

I know Mullen should put up points with that talent at UF. It’s Grantham as your D cordinator, your offense will put up 30-35 a game, but your D will allow 38-40 a game. Get used to seeing/saying 3rd and Grantham.

I wish Mullen the best but he has limitations. Maybe some new scenery will help the man out. Mark my words you all will be bitch about John Hevesy in 12-24 months. I think he will do well at Florida but not well enough for the gators to not fire him.

It wasn't true in those years like it is now. Just look at recruiting

If Florida reaches their full potential they will be fine. I don't know what that would mean in terms of number of championships but the resources and recruiting base is there to succeed. That has been true for decades now.
