Why do we need to have 3 permanent opponents?

The conference is just too big and balanced conference schedules too hard to achieve.

Put everyone on the same rotation and if there is a rivalry game you want to maintain on an "off" year, schedule the rival as a non-confernce game.

1. UGA
2. Auburn or LSU
3. SCar maybe?

I'd like Auburn back but making them play Bama/UF/UGA annually wouldn't be fair. LSU is good despite the amount of vitriol on here.

You gotta keep the Tiger Bowl for sure. LSU vs Auburn is a great series. LSU needs Arky as well. Golden Boot on Thanksgiving weekend and every other year in Little Rock.

Alabama: AU, TN and State.

No where, on no planet will Auburn be a permanent for Tennessee. It will be Alabama, Vandy, and probably Kentucky

Sounds good. All for letting the poors have two weak opponents.

Oklahoma, A&M, Arkansas

I would trade Ark for Bama or Georgia but it will never happen. Renewing our rivalry Arkansas is pretty cool but creating a new rivalry with SEC royalty would be fun.

I would be okay West Vance joining Mississippi. "Same differencel

Nope...for Tennessee...Bama, Kentucky, Vandy

Those are the 3 teams Tennessee has played more than any other.

UT vs UK - 120 games
UT vs Vandy - 118 games
UT vs Bama - 107 games

There are no other opponents UT has played more than 70 games. The next 3 are:

UT vs Ole Miss - 66 games
UT vs Georgia - 55 games
UT vs Auburn - 54 games
UT vs Florida - 54 games

No incentive to schedule hard games, so bottom of the barrel. Vandy, State and Auburn

Texas should be playing their old rivals and who they've played most often. So their opponents would be:

Oklahoma - Already played them 120 times
Texas A&M - Already played them 119 times
Arkansas - Already played them 80 times

If one of those is already bound up, you can switch in Missouri since you've already played them 24 times. Texas has not faced any other SEC team more than 20 times.

LSU - 18
Vandy - 13
Bama - 11
Ole Miss - 8
Auburn - 8
Georgia - 7
Miss St. - 5 (which is fewer times than Texas has played Sewanee)
Florida - 4
Tennessee - 3
Kentucky - 2
South Carolina - 1

For UT, OU, A&M & Arky. But, if the Hawgs don’t get it together, I’d vote for swapping them out for an annual LSU game.

QFT.

And for A&M I was going to say they should have the same, Texas, OU and Arky. But looking at winsapedia, they've actually played LSU more times that OU. So you could make an argument for Texas, Arky and LSU.

But LSU is likely full with Bama and the Mississippi Schools (the teams they've played the most over the years).

Auburn wants Tennessee?

Where does that come from?

Pre-division SEC schedule. Used to play UTk and UF every year. Getting stuck in the SEC west (and Ga Tech leaving) killed a lot of our "traditional" rivalries. Auburn has played Tech more than LSU by a lot. Nearly 40 more games.

As long as we don't lose Bama, I'm good. Barn and Florida seem obvious, so it probably won't be them. If we have to take a new entry to the SEC, I would be for Oklahoma.

I think the default should be who you've played the most, but as those fill up, you may drop down the list. What I don't like are "system created rivalries". Ultimately, there will be some things that don't work out perfectly...it is what it is.

So South Carolina vs AM? The previous expansion was like musical chairs, and SC/AM were the only two left standing when the music stopped...

As an aTm fan, why do you want SC? That game has always felt contrived and kinda pointless.

As an SC fan, I would prefer
