Because it’s a college football tradition. You want to eliminate traditions. I don’t. We need to hang on to as many as possible with all the other changes in the sport. There is nothing like the RRS at the fair. It’s one of if not the best rivalry game in sports. Half the fans are cheering while other half boos. And viceaversa when ball changes hands. Its unparalleled in sports to have half fans present for each team

there isn't a single fan you'll find (in real life) that wanted it to be in atl/tampa. Everyone is pissed at what ended up happening due to corporate fricks.

FIFY.

That would make it one of the easiest road games on OU's SEC schedule.

The problem is they can't renovate the fair park area of Dallas.

The city is currently in a $20 million lawsuit with a company that was supposed to be maintaining and fixing things up but terminated their deal for failure to meet obligations.

Since the city has taken back over operations they've slowly but surely been getting things back in order though they've had to start with less exciting things like getting all the HVAC systems in order, fixing all the fountains, and repainting everything.

.

I suspect that there was some machinations that were at play to keep it in NFL stadiums lest the fanbases say after 2 years it ought to be home and home.

I am of the opinion that I don’t care. I have had a big time in Jacksonville but I ain’t going to go to many if any games there or Athens again. Too much work and too many other things I enjoy in the fall. I can barely tolerate watching commercials with brief interludes of football at home….its untenable in person, for me. I’ll keep my season tickets because others in the family enjoy them but I go to very games and fully intend to go to even fewer….its just too much work and the breaks in the game are beyond untenable

They did it last year. I sold all the piping and drainage for that job. Idk if it got halted but they put a ton of new shite in that stadium but its not fun new stuff, its behind the wall functionality shite. I think its listed as a historical building so they can't just tear it down. Its a but of an eye sore and the area sucks but it still has some cool nostalgia. Its crazy to renovate the thing but without it downtown Dallas wouldn't have anything. The stars and mavs have both already agreed to goto the burbs.

No one cares. It’s a dump with a noon game.

It would be really cool if it was home and home….but still 50/50 split. Obviously some complications around that but the game would simply have to be treated as a one-off not ticketed as part of season ticket packages.

Don’t think I’ve ever heard of anything like that but this rivalry deserves respect for preserving its tradition where basically all the others have failed.

There won't be a major upgrade so we're fine with TX-blowU there.

I think the city of Dallas would do everything they could to get them into ATT. Out of fear that a couple years on campuses would make both of us say hey we kinda like this.

Hey,

The combined GDP of Texas and Oklahoma is over 293 trillion dollars.

What you got? Pick any 2 states. Or 5.

I’d hope for Austin and Norman. The amount of money spent in each city would be absolutely crazy. I’m sure Austin experiences an economic boost everyday with everything they have, not just around campus. But still, two rare campus games would be incredible theatre.

Has the game ever been on campus?

I’m a native Texan and understand the history of playing in conjunction with the state fair and all, but it’s kind of strange to me that there are diehard college football fans out there who have never been to their rivals’ campus.

What on earth does this have to do with alternate RRS game venues?

Although your #s are incorrect, not that it matters.
