If there is ever a major Cotton Bowl Stadium renovation…..

where the Red River Shootout couldn’t be played for two years, would the game relocate to AT&T Stadium, Texas Motor Speedway, or be played in Austin and Norman in back-to-back years? What do Texas fans and my fellow Sooner fans think?

Guessing home and home. Doubt ATT Stadium since they already had a chance for that and stayed at Cotton Bowl

I’d hope for Austin and Norman. The amount of money spent in each city would be absolutely crazy. I’m sure Austin experiences an economic boost everyday with everything they have, not just around campus. But still, two rare campus games would be incredible theatre.

They just renovated the cotton bowl. The problem is they can't renovate the fair park area of Dallas.

I doubt there will ever be any major upgrades to the Cotton Bowl. It is just not used enough.

The obvious answer is Tupelo High School. It has a seating capacity of just under 10k, which is massive for Mississippi. Afterwards folks can celebrate by, uhm, driving to Memphis?

There shouldn’t be any neutral site matchups in the SEC with a 9-game schedule that requires every team to play each team twice every four years.
UGA should have to play in The Swamp.
Florida should have to play between the hedges.
No different for OU and Texas playing in Norman and Austin.

The RRS reduces the 9 game impact. We will always have 4 true home and road games. Other SEC teams will rotate 4 home/5 away and 5 home/4 away every other year. FL/GA also benefits with Jax game.

It'd be terrific for CFB to go home and home.
But since what's good for CFB is entirely irrelevant and money is all that matters, it will go to neutral sites instead.

The Shootout will NEVER under any circumstances be played at JerryWorld.. Both Universities Alumni bases would stand united against it.

You’re missing the point.
To be expected from 1 of the 4 teams in the 16-team SEC that plays a neutral site game every year.
Why should 14 teams in the SEC have to play in The Swamp but UGA never has to?
Why should 14 teams in the SEC have to play at DKR but OU never has to?
Road games should be road games. 1/4 of the SEC teams shouldn’t have it any differently than the remaining 3/4.

The Wheatbowl Stadium in Texhoma, home of the Fighting Red Devils, seems the most appropriate venue for a cross-state rivalry and opportunity to support small town TX and OK.
Even ticket split for 1200 lucky fans.

Why would you leave Tupelo to go to Memphis?
