Ole Sarge actually helping Texas while he thinks he is hurting them.

Him and Col aggy make quite a pair.

Not historically, worst thing the Bumbles did was to bolt for the ACC after Dodds got pissed at the Bear.

What is the cutoff for historically? GT left the SEC in 1964.

#2 A few years after they pussed out they tried to get LSU and Ole Miss to join them in forming the SWC but Tigers and Rebs were better and smarter than that.

Move over SMU.

I have been told numerous times by many different people that aggy out of all SMC make the worse officers.

VMI and The Citadel at the top.
aggy is even behind VA Tech.

Texas has more National Championships than anyone in the SEC.

47 NCAA team championships for longhorns
24 for men & 23 for women

46 NCAA team championships for razorbacks
42 for men & 4 for women

Congrats, you are roughly equal to the Hogs, but most of theirs were men's sports! They also did in in one of the smallest population states with way less $$$$ and way less native recruiting.

Compared to current and former SEC schools

All time
17 Alabama
6 Tennessee
4 Georgia Tech (3 in SEC, 1 in ACC)
4 Texas
3 Florida
3 LSU
3 Ole Miss
3 Texas A&M
2 Auburn
2 Georgia
1 Kentucky
1 Arkansas (in SWC)

Modern Era (CFA formation and NCAA separation)
8 Alabama
3 Florida
2 LSU
1 Tennessee
1 Auburn
1 Texas
1 Georgia
1 Georgia Tech (in ACC)

Texas could be a juggernaut in everything

Which is the point, with all that population + money + in state recruiting, they are classic underachievers!

Here are the sports Utx has NCAA teams championships in and last year won
Baseball / 2005
Golf / 2012
Swimming / 2018
Tennis / 2019
(no men's basketball : :)

Basketball / 1986
Cross Country / 1986
Indoor T&F / 2006
Outdoor T&F / 2005
Swimming / 1991
Tennis / 1995
Volleyball / 2012

Some schools are great at a couple of sports who win a bunch of NC.

Look at UNC women's soccer
Washington women's rowing

Top 5/10 finishes are a great way to look at things.
Shows how many different sports you are great in.

Aggy just threw them in the closet on top of the Johnny Manziel Cleveland and Montreal jerseys.

Cheese Grits you are a fricking idiot.

"Classic underachievers". Pretty much anyone other than Stanford in the modern era is a "classic underachiever". In the top five conferences, all time, everyone other than Notre Dame and Alabama is an underachiever.

There are six major conference teams in Texas, vs. how many in most other states? May as well through in OU in that mix and if Arkansas ever got their shite together it would be eight big teams who have an easy regional appeal.

There is much more history and variables that go into it that your idiotic analysis.

Most Texas fans are treating the recent woes exactly like they should -- frustration at the number of wins and confidence that the school can make a run if it keeps up with recruiting.

Is Utx really elite any any sport?

I would argue baseball is their best sport of the bigger ones
6 CWS from 1949 to 2005
4 MNC's but only 1 MNC in the modern era
1 W basketball title back in the mid 80's
0 M basketball titles
0 WCWS

Of their women's titles 23 of 47 total, 20 of the 23 are from the past century
W Indoor T&F 2006
W Outdoor T&F 2005
W Volleyball 2012

Of their men's titles 24 of 47 total, 12 of the 24 are from the past century
Baseball 2002 & 2005
Golf 2012
Tennis 2019
Swimming 2000, 2001, 2002, 2010, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018

Again, considering.....
Sports Revenue
In State Recruits
State Population
Monopoly power in the state
PUF revenue
Wealthy Boosters

Utx is a sad underperformer outside of men's swimming.

No. Texas got lucky. Georgia players were still in a funk that they didn’t get into the playoff. Their hearts werent in that game. Don’t think we will see that lack of enthusiasm again. Kirby will have them ready to play where ever they end up postseason from now on. He is too much like Sabin to let that’ ever happen again.

True Story

quote:

There are six major conference teams in Texas

Utx = historically the monopoly
TAMU = historic little brother
Baylor = historically insignificant
TCU = not historically a major conference team
Texas Tech = not really a historic player despite size

Not sure who you are saying is #6?

As for other states
CA = Cal, Stanford, UCLA, and USC
NC = UNC, NC State, Duke, Wake Forest
FL = Florida, Florida State, and Miami
IN = Indiana, Purdue, and Notre Dame

At least in other states with more than 2 P5's the 2nd and 3rd schools have something to show for it.

Besides your anger and insecurity, you missed the simple premise of all the advantages Utx has in the state of Texas.

29 million people in TX
VS
4 million people in OK (split between OU and OSU)

Yet...

Sooners
7 MNC's between 3 different coaches
2 CWS
0 NCAA men's basketball (but 2 Runner Up and 5 Final Fours)
0 NCAA women's basketball (but 1 Runner Up and 3 Final Fours)
4 WCWS (and 2 Runner Ups)

Clearly the Sooners do much more with much less.
