Look, try not to drink too much of the burnt orange Koolaid

If the statehouse had been in College Station the roles are probably reversed.

Here are some facts about Utx.

#1 Utx could have been a charter SEC school but they pussed out in the old SIAA because they were not the top dog.

#2 A few years after they pussed out they tried to get LSU and Ole Miss to join them in forming the SWC but Tigers and Rebs were better and smarter than that.

#3 About a century ago they got the folks in College Station to join them in the SWC and leaving the SIAA. Dumb short term move by TAMU and they paid dearly for it for another 100 years till they left the dysfunction of Utx

#4 Utx could not beat Vanderbilt at the State Fair so they swapped the Dores for the Sooners. Did more good for Utx than OK but the Sooners have now become the battered wife and fear leaving Utx's toxic home.

I have lived in Texas before. Working in the oil and gas industry I have been all over SE Texas, Corpus and even West Texas.

It is night and day. aggy is a joke in the state. Being in the SEC helped them a little but it isn't enough to put aggy over Texas

There's no toxicity in the BIG XII. We're all doing fine. Welcoming three new coaches this fall at three different teams. Should be fun.

I love Texas the state and am OK with Utx as an institution

What I hate is blowhard Utx fans who have so little to show for all the $$$$ they have spent pimping Utx.

If you have the most $$$$
If you have the biggest state to recruit from
If you have the monopoly for the state for fans

Then you should have more MNC's than the Sooners, and you don't

Utx = classic underachiever but too arrogant to admit it.

Christ, Bucknuts have some of the worst fans in sports but at least they have the hardware to show for it.

You do realize that A&M has higher TV ratings in Austin for football games than the tea sips?

Texas has more National Championships than anyone in the SEC.
Texas has produced more Olympians than anyone in the SEC

Wouldn't count them as underachievers if they were you are pretty much playing to their narrative. Texas could be a juggernaut in everything. Meaning Top 5 in every sport.

TAMU may be a joke, but consider the Gators.

Gators could not win till Pell and Hall got them on the right track. Spurrier took it from there and got the brass ring. Foley got them going across the board and now they have the brass ring across the board.

TAMU has many of the same things in their arsenal. A generation or two from now you could be correct and they are where they are now. I am not so sure I would take that bet tho. I could easily see them being the Gators of the West.

Biggest mistake Utx made was leaving the SIAA
Second biggest mistake Utx made was allowing the SWC / B12 monopoly of TX to be lost

Not historically, worst thing the Bumbles did was to bolt for the ACC after Dodds got pissed at the Bear.

That moment was historical. It went from an even rivialry, maybe even tech advantage, to complete domination by uga. I love Bobby Dodd for that reason.

Vanderbilt football is 8-3-1 all time vs Texas. Auburn has a better winning percentage against Vanderbilt than Texas does.

...and Texas is 7-1 vs Alabama...but none of that means a thing today.
