Targeting has nothing to do with player safety and everything to do with the ability for the NCAA to defend themselves in potential future lawsuits.

probably because knee pads do nothing. if they did something people would wear them.

also most players put in their mouthpieces before the snap.

I agree, and it should not be targeting. One was called on a guy that hit Daniels and it should not have been.

Agreed, and most players don't target. They still call it on those who do and some who don't.

spearing has been a good rule for 100 years


"targeting" and "launching" and "helmet to helmet" was created by figs who never played the game, and hate the game, and want it destroyed

Kneepads are helpful against direct blows against the patella. Inflamed patella injuries aren't serious but they could limit a player.
