We've been.

MSU also has an SECCG appearance in football. The evidence mounts.

Serious question, would be the first national title for Mississippi State regardless of sport?

Nope. Disc Golf has a couple of titles.
Other than that, we’ve had some individual titles like this year’s javelin thrower, but not team titles. The WBK team has gotten closest most recently, but we’ve had some other teams in the top two as well.

Ole miss has better football history than us, but across the board our athletic department is better and has been for decades.

Pulling for State big time!

I don't think there's any debate right now. MSU is a superior athletic program all around. It's been this way.

I'll give OM the benefit of the doubt in football for the past, but the overall perception of athletic programs, State takes the cake easily.

Indubitably.
And State winning a National Championship in anything will be added to tList 2018

If State wins the CWS, and I'm pulling for them, that would make the tally Ole Miss 2, MSU 1. Ole Miss has two national championships recognized — not claimed, recognized — by the College Football Data Warehouse: 1960 and 1962.

State has been the Top Dog in Mississippi for the past 20 years

Hard to argue with a recent title in the big 3.

Ole Miss doesn't know how many national championships they have. It varies between 0 to 3. The NCAA recognizes a split with Minnesota. State has been the superior athletic program for the past 50 years. It's nothing to brag about nationally but within the Mississippi sure

As an outsider living in Mississippi now.. ole miss has the better football history and more tradition in football. Plus the Tailgating is a big deal for them, and they have way more boosters... but overall athletics goes to MSU. It’s not even close either.. it seems State focuses more than others on other sports. Especially girls sports..Their fans seem more loyal too, and will pack out a girls softball game if needed.
Also the scandal really hurt ole miss’s reputation with high school football coaches. It’s more that the AD is still there and it really wasn’t a cleaning of house. More of giving a fall guy for everyone, and the fall guy happen to be the head coach. Which makes other coaches upset. Bjork isn’t liked with in the coaching circles. If State can get on a roll with Moorehead and have a few good seasons early.. that could really shift the football power. If not.. ole miss will go back to dominating the recruiting in the state. The next 3 years will be very crucial for both programs.
