The coaches I could see being on the short list are:
Bret Bielema
Tony Dungy (this scares me)
Kirk Ferentz
Jim McElwain
Gary Patterson
BMFP
Steve Sarkisian
Kirby Smart
Steve Spurrier (would be offered but would turn down the job...again)
Dabo Swinney

Gary Patterson

they would maybe even bring in Smart or another past assistant that could keep Sabans machine rolling
Smart is Saban's choice, not sure if it would fly after hiring Mike DuBose and Mike Shula but if Saban is named the AD.....who knows?

I don't think it's going to be any extra tough on them, but its tough to hire a good coach period. It's a crapshoot for the most part and for the more established guys it's all about timing so a lot of luck comes into play

Kirby Smart
I think the brass would take a hrd look at an up and comer like Gary Patterson
Dabo would get a look as well

Mark Dantonio would be my guess.
God I hope so. Bama would be right back to the Shula days.

Serious answer to not serious response: Alabama has seen all of its success as a run first, ball control, tough defense program (see Bryant, Stallings, and Saban). The likelihood of changing from that would be very low.
So, no Petrinos or Leeches, and no Malhzahnhses. My guess would be that Smart would get a chance if he hadn't already jumped to another head coaching job.

but if Saban is named the AD
It would also be a disaster for the next football coach to have Saban hanging around the Athletic Complex.

Dantonio is a good coach. Idk if I'd want to follow Saban though, that's an awfully tough act to follow.

Yeah...on second thought..Im sure they dont want a repeat of the Shula days by hiring an ex player lol

at Dabo getting any consideration.

Bama is a top 5 job in the country, regardless of the tard portion of the fanbase. I think Kirby Smart or Will Muschamp would be 2 of the top candidates.
eta: Patterson and Peterson would be at the top as well
