You don't know saban very well. He has let players play with no suspension after assaults and trying to run over people with their vehicle.
Link?

Which means only the big sports survive, which means only men's basketball and football survive, which brings.....oh wow....Title IX implications!
Not really. The universities would just have to pay for 97 female schollies. Would be a break for them.

I wonder what Uncle Sam will think about kids turning in tax forms with 6 figures and reporting that they're occupation is "college student"
As long as they pay their taxes, I dont think they will give a frick.

If we are talking about compensation for jerseys, etc. that's another story.
Thats all Im talking about. Not the Universities paying these kids a salary.

Plus you'll have to pay the divers too, and the rowers, and the bowlers.
Not if they dont command payment from the market.

And what about taxes?
What about them? They will be handled like all taxes are handled. Players not reporting income will be subject to the same penalties that we all are.

 at the LSU fans trying to make Saban look bad for only suspending him for a quarter
Miles would have given him a pat on the back and told him how much he loves the spirit.

And what do you think the penalty be?

The fact that you still cannot use the proper terminology speaks volumes.
I read that is, you are right, but I will nitpick at a few keystrokes instead of admitting that.

Saban is ridiculous.
You're right
No other coach in the country would suspend a player for this.

I could repeat the part I posted earlier about how being codified as an NCAA rule, not to mention the fact that said payments would be due to playing atheltics at a college or university brings Title IX implications, but since it went in one ear and out the other before, I fail to see how you would comprehend that fact now.
Title 9 only says that if you do for males, you must do for females. allowing players to be paid has no effect on that.

I think you need to read up on it. Any sport that receives any financial aid whatsoever is subject to it. You'd have to cut all scholarship funding off first before you could allow any outside source to knowingly give benefits.
No, you would just have to say that both male and female athletes are allowed to receive outside funding.

I tried, couldn't find title 9 anywhere.
Then, I looked for Title IX, oh there it was
Good one
Now read it and tell me how it has anything to do with an open market.
Ill wait.

NCAA wouldnt be mandating anything.

Oh yes it would. It absolutely would. Whatever outside monies were available to the players would be codified in the NCAA rulebook, and therefore subject to Title IX.
No it wouldnt. If the schools were paying these kids it would, but you cant force a car dealer to give a field hockey player a car because he did for a football player.

You do understand what Title IX is right?
Letting people outside the university pay these kids for their services would have no effect on title 9.
