If OU was in the SEC

The SEC would have the entire top 5 in recruiting. OU is looking like they will finish top 3 or 4, sitting at 6 now before 5 star haselwood and a couple more 4 stars that are waiting to announce.

Yeah but you're not, and won't be until Okie cuts the apron strings from Texas and dumps little brother.

Doubt they all would still choose a 3 or 4 loss Oklahoma team

OU would win the west nearly every year with bama in the east...

Exactly. Look at Missouri or Nebraska for examples of moving for the wrong reason. Successful teams join competitive leagues if they know they can compete. Otherwise they will destroy their fanbase and football program for 50+ years. Look at Missouri or Nebraska.

Not with that defense and the physical grind of a SEC schedule. That seems to be a concept lost on those in others conferences. You guys play an exciting brand of ball, and I'm not dogging the Big 12. I am just saying the style of play in the SEC is more physical. Now, OU is a true football "blue blood" and would adjust and would do fine, but it would be rough for them in the early years.

OU is able to recruit Texas talent because they can promise kids lots of games in Texas, if they were in the SEC West they could only promise two games in a kid’s career, one realistically in which he’d be playing. They wouldn’t recruit nearly as well if they were in our conference.

I think the only teams in the sec this year or last that could hang with either OU team even with the defenses(which is about to be fixed with a new DC) is Alabama and UGA. Auburn, A&M, arkansas, etc would have no hope of stopping those offenses.

We don't tell them anything of the sort and don't need to.

OU recruits Texas so well because of the proximity to Dallas and Ft worth, it’s the closest campus to either. That’s before you factor in the bizarre pipeline they have to California, and recently even FL and GA. OU gets more elite Cali kids than UCLA does nearly every year. Oklahoma is an NFL pipeline and a top 5 contributor to drafted players and current players in the NFL. You don’t have to sell kids on anything at OU it’s built in.

Yea you definitely do, Kansas does as well, that’s why historically their teams have had more Texas kids than Kansas kids. Nebraska was notorious for this and it hurt them badly going in to the Big 10.
