Not sure who you're referring to, but I don't know a single LSU fan who remembers that year being fine with USCw deciding that they should share the championship.
Like the SEC, the Pac-whatever agreed to the BCS structure. I don't deny that USC was a talented team, but they weren't selected to go to the big game. If they weren't going to accept the BCS committee choices they shouldn't have agreed to it in the first place. Dems da breaks.
LSU and OU were selected to go, USC was not. End of story.
Speaking for me and mine: most of us are still spitting mad about that fake USC "co-championship" BS every time some idiot brings it up.
I agree 100%. I cringe whenever someone says that USC almost won three in a row. They didn't even win one.
2003 - LSU
2004 - vacant

Ole Miss fans in this thread defending that banner
Just an FYI if you want to know why Kiffin would leave, you can add this to the list of reasons. He wants actual championships not bush league second place banners.

That is true. Both teams get trophies from the SEC. LSU has a couple from when they were co-champs, we just aren’t foolish enough to celebrate it.

As an LSU fan I’m not that bothered by the 03 co-champ thing. If anything we should start claiming the the 96 and 97 Co-Champs that we won. As an LSU fan you wouldn’t even know we were Co- Champs in 96 and 97 the way we never mention it.

Ole Miss get's all this hate for the 2003 banner all the while many SEC stadiums have division banners for year's they lost the tie break and didn't make it to ATL.
Auburn has a banner for a division championship for a year LSU went to Atlanta. I forget the year, maybe 2005.

Umm. No. Why would they? Will belong to LSU virtue of head-to-head.

This is OM's best team in two decades... they should hang a co division champs banner, print the shirts, have a parade, the whole 9 yards...
Let them have some fun since Kiffin is gone to Auburn or Bama in the next year or two.

I know I've seen either a 2001 or 2005 banner in Auburn's stadium before...Maybe both.
GOOD! We should hang the 2005 banner next to the 2004 national championship banner and a no corndogs sign!

I’m not sure what you mean by that, but if LSU wins out they will be national champs this season.
