To be fair, the past couple of years people in CoMo didn't even watch Mizzou

What do you think of Jefferson City?
It has that vibe of being the city in between like Frankfort, KY was between Louisville and Lexington.

2003 - Oklahoma, who didn't win their conference got shut down by LSU, who DID win their conference.
This didn't happen....

2008 - Florida dominated Oklahoma
Neither did this...

Prior to the BCS title game, the 2003 Sooners averaged over 45 points per game.
LSU held them to 14. That's called BEING SHUT DOWN.

Mizzou would be in the Big 10 if the Big 10 wanted them. This is undeniable.
The B1G didn't want Missouri though, so SEC it was.
WRONG. The Big 10 wanted Missouri, but on their terms making significantly less $$$ to start.
Mizzou told them F-U and Nebraska swooped in and accepted the slight to shed themselves of the XII.

aka the BIG wasn't that interested.
Missouri is a much better fit in the BIG & would've jumped at a real offer.. arguenent that they should have taken any deal offered to secure the oppty.

The simple truth
Who was willing to pay 50 million to join the B1G
No = Missouri
Yes = Nebraska
Say what you will about Mizzou, but they were thrifty.

OU vs an SEC Big 6 team each weekend would be must see TV for college football.
The ESPN money will dry up over the next decade. A quality, traditional power house college football team will out perform in ratings your preferred, large TV market team any day.
Most of the country would rather watch OU vs LSU on prime time instead of UNC/UVA/VA Tech vs LSU.
The Sooners have been winning championships since the 1950s, only one SEC team has more and I'm not tracking any SEC team with more Heisman trophy winners.

You made your bed with Texas. Now you get to lay in it.
Comfy? Too bad. Big Tex has needs and wants you to fluff them again.

I think Mizzou knows that if the SEC were to trim fat, Mizzou would be the first logical choice.
Throw that TV market data out the window, Mizzou brings absolutely zero prestige, and zero championships in any collegiate sport.

I take that back, I saw that Mizzou won a non-football national championship back in the 1950s and 1960s.

I would trade OU for Mizzou in a heartbeat. Tradition rich OU vs (well, I can't think what Mizzou brings to the table other than a few TV sets in STL.

I don't want anything to do with OU in the SEC. Their fan base is literally the most thin skinned group of people I've ever been around. It would be a terrible fit for them in the SEC.

This game was a tail of two halves. They shoved us around the first half, we shoved them around the second, and came up short on a goal line stand as time expired. It's a national title game. I wouldn't expect you to understand the dynamics of such a game, and/or the irrelevance of "season totals" in such a game.

This game was a defensive battle throughout and tied at 14 midway through the 4th quarter. The game turned midway through the 4th quarter when Florida made the plays they had to make to pull ahead. We failed to convert two scoring opportunities from their 10 yard line earlier in the game which is what did us in. We didn't have DeMarco Murray for that game either, which was a huge part of that offense that averaged "54 points per game". That's not "being dominated" That's called a "National Title Game".
Again, it was a national title game, and I don't expect you, an Aggot, to understand the difference between a regular season game and a national title game. But I DO expect you, of all fanbases, to know what "being dominated" really is. Look no further than what Bama does to you every season. THAT.....is "being dominated"
