Your dumb arse claming that Alabama is the only place that can win 5 or 6 championships, due to some implied magical spell is hilarious. Most idiots can't tell they're idiots. Have your mother clean the window before you lick it. RAMF.

Why do you think the two best coaches in the history of the sport came to Alabama? It had nothing to do with Alabama? It was pure coincidence? Don't be ridiculous. When Saban retires BAMA will most likely have their pick of head coaches to choose from because people WANT to come to Alabama. Just like Bear, and just like Saban.

I can't speak for Bear but Saban was only hired because Steve Spurrier and Rich Rodriguez gave Mal Moore the cold shoulder.

He would have had a few championships, but he wouldn't have had six. Georgia has never been Alabama, and never will be.

All I'm saying is, give Alabama credit too. There's a reason it's happened at Alabama twice. Credit to the coaches, but the organization deserves credit.

Mal never wanted Rich. Mal probably would have gone with Spurrier had it worked out, but he always wanted Saban. He was after him from the very beginning. It was everyone else pushing Rich Rod because they weren't patient enough to wait on a real answer from Saban, because Saban waited so long. Saban left an NFL job to come to Alabama. That's not bad.

Also, I've heard the talks with Spurrier weren't all that serious on either side. I'm not 100% sure though.

All of that to confirm my point.

If Spurrier or RichRod say yes, Saban isn't hired at Alabama.

I can't speak for Georgia because I don't know the particulars of their situation but what exactly does Alabama give Saban that LSU wouldn't have.

It's possible he has more than six titles if he'd have stayed at LSU until now.

Mal was railroading the Rich Rod situation.

Like I edited before, I've heard the Spurrier talks weren't all that serious on either side.

And you know this how?

If he's lucky he lasts
4 years.Theres nothing to indicate he would have done something special at Bama.

How in the world would you know this?

I did. It’s a great program. It wouldn’t be close to what it is without having the two best coaches of all time. What I won’t do is drink this ideology of divine greatness nonsense Bama fans think they are entitled to.

Yes, the REASON(s) are TWO men named Saban and Bryant.

There's a whole thread about this. Go back and read it.

I'll say this, clearly there is more at Alabama than Georgia because it's been there throughout history. Maybe it's the passion and the administration and the commitment to winning? Whatever you want to call it, it resides in our trophy case and not in UGA's.

About Saban and LSU, the world will never know.

Because Spurrier stated he wasn't interested from the jump.

It doesn't matter who it was. Devine intervention would have gifted Matt Luke 6 championships because...Bama.

As I said, Saban was Mal's guy from the jump. NOT Spurrier. That's nice Spurrier wasn't interested, because neither was Mal. Why would anyone give a shite if he was interested or not? Pretty sure it worked out.

All I know is, Kirby Smart is not a top 10 Hall of Fame coach. Mark Richt ain’t either. Both of those guys have national titles if not for Saban. If Richt and Kirby could take UGA to the 1 yard line of winning a ship against the greatest coach of all time, it’s not hard for me to believe that the greatest coach of all time could have UGA winning championships year in and year out.

Nope, just great coaching hires combined with a top program. You stick Shula at Bama and you get 6-6. You stick Saban at Michigan state where he’s facing vastly more talented teams nearly every week and you get 8-4. It’s not complex but I mean I’m starting to realize debating rational points with someone speaking of a college football team’s “divine greatness” probably won’t stick unfortunately. Best of luck to you.

What you just said has been my point all along. It's not just Saban, it's Saban at Alabama. The disconnect is you think Saban at UGA is the exact same thing when it's not, and it never will be. He would have had success at UGA but 6 championships in 14 seasons? Nope.

He would've won 8 by now. Bama offers nothing more than UGA. Don't see where a couple of you are coming from. We have the resources and high school football that's waay better. Saban would absolutely kill it at Georgia.
