Why are you leaving out the Logan Young payment to Albert Means’ coach?

This "penalty" is a joke and I don't see how the NCAA can agree to it.

They won't. I don't know whether or not they'll alter the 8 total, but they will almost certainly take away from the 25.

You want technicalities? When has the NCAA ever made a declaration about the overall quality of a program anyways? They assess whether or not rules have been broken and then take the appropriate measures. They don't comment on whether programs are shitty or not. Dumbass.

I'm pretty sure he's pointing out the severity of sanctions handed out for the rather mild infractions. We all know about Means.

Why is it always $180,000?

The father of former offensive lineman Vadal Alexander received $180,000 in stolen money from LSU booster John Paul Funes

He only gave like $105,000 to the other family.

You mean the vacating of wins and a $43k fine, with no other penalties, for the text book scandal? The horror. What LSU self-imposed in this case is worse than what Alabama got as a repeat offender in 2009. I’d gladly vacate wins from every single game Alexander played in from 2012-2015.

The Means stuff that resulted in a bowl ban is what getting hammered is. Vacating wins is such a non-punishment no one cares about unless a national title is stripped.

Alabama penalties over Albert Means scandal

Five-year probation
Two-year postseason bowl ban
Loss of 21 scholarships over three years

USC penalties over Reggie Bush scandal

Vacating 14 victories in which Bush played from December 2004 through the 2005 season
Two year bowl ban
Loss of 30 scholarships over three years

Based on that, LSU's punishment should be:

Vacating every LSU victory that Vadal Alexander participated in
Five year probation
Two year bowl ban
Loss of 20-30 scholarships over next three years

This seems excessive

Really?

However, I should say that wasn't really all about the sanctions. We hired Mike Price under those conditions. He just went crazy at the strip club.

Hard to find a head coach in May, so that's how we got Shula. Someone who had never been a HC and hasn't since.

What? Shula had zero HC experience, no one thought he was the best coach. He was likely the only coach we could get at the time and Shula was an alum and the most morally sound option available willing to take the job.
