You're right that he'd have a bigger NIL war chest at Florida, which is an advantage. My only point is that the game has changed enough that he can now win it all at Ole Miss without needing an absolute miracle. If he does his job extremely well and nails his NIL poaching picks, he can win it where he is.

That probably wasn't the case, say, 15 years ago.

Ole Miss is benefiting from Lsu being down the years under Brian kelly and the brilliance of lane kiffin on offense with less. The right coach at lsu and Ole Miss would not beat lsu consistently or even compete as they get better talent than Ole Miss. This is why experts believe lane kiffin in the era of offense in new age cfb would dominate at a pl ace with more resources than Ole miss

Dipshit coaching in the redzone and bull shite officiating, since we’re doing stupid excuses for the results instead of seeing them for what they are.

If I'm Lane Kiffin you couldn't blast me out of Ole Miss. He has it made there and can accomplish anything there he can at LSU or UF. He's proven that. Furthermore he's built that program from the ground up to exactly what he wants. Why go some where else and start over. LSU is a hood, in a ghetto, in a swamp. Florida offers nothing OM can't and doesn't provide. I just don't see the draw for him leaving. He well into building himself a legacy at OM. Why throw it all away for uncertainty and starting over.

Non power teams are going to make a 12 team playoff.

Heck, Cincinnati made a 4 team playoff a few years ago. TCU played for a natty. Washington and Michigan State also made a 4 team playoff.

If making a 12 team playoff is the ultimate goal, you can do that anywhere.

It hasn't been proven that you can just win a natty anywhere though.

We’ve only had one 12-team playoff so literally nothing has been proven.

When is the last time a non power won a national championship? The 80's?

To make a super complicated decision super simple....the only reason he would leave for Florida...is because he wants to be there.

It wont be for money...we'll pay him what he wants.
It wont be for resources...both OC and DC are some of the highest paid alreadty
Ole miss has a NIL that is as good as any out there....obviously there are bigger with more money.

If Florida were a better place. All the coaches that have been fired after a couple years would have succeeded. Urban Meyer and Steve Spurrier were outliers...not the norm.

Meanwhile, Florida has been middling to bad since 2020, and has stacked more talent in that time than Ole Miss, who is having one of their best runs in history.

No they’re good but aren’t a championship caliber team. A lot of close wins.

Money won't be an issue. The question is - does he want to uproot his entire family or would he leave his kids behind?

I disagree. If it were just resources you would see a lot more teams up there. And some of those teams were in a long drought before they won. It’s right coach, right resources, good fortune, and other people not putting it together at the exact same time.

Dan Mullen's record as an SEC head coach is 54-53. He, Mark Stoops and James Franklin are the most overrated SEC HC's of the past 50 yrs.

It’s also easier to get fired

Lots of coaches on paper have had just as much success as Lane and couldn’t make it work at Florida. And the ones that won at similar clip to Lane have been run out of town for it (Mullen).

I’m biased but Ole Miss will give Lane all he wants PLUS grace to have a “bad” year and only win 8-9 games. Florida and LSU will run you out of town for that.
