I want him to stay. I would much rather have Lane as our coach than have to coach against him, especially at a school like Auburn that does have good resources and can compete when they get their shite together.

There needs to be some finality to all of this. I really don't want worry about our coach leaving again next season, it's not good for the health of our program in the short or long term.

Kiffin has done some great things here. He took a program in complete disarray and gave it direction. He's won a lot of ball games in his short time here. If Kiffin does leave, he'll have left Ole Miss football in much better shape than he found it.

What sucks hard is that we all knew that Ole Miss probably wasn't his long-term destination when we hired him, but as the past few years have gone by, I started to build up hope that maybe, just maybe, he might stick around for a while. Feels like that possibility is slipping away more and more each day.

You are not allowed to have feelings like this. You are supposed to melt one way or the other for the entertainment of auburn fans. It’s science

Not really. Pretty much every ole piss poster here predicted him being around for a little bit when he was first hired. Tuberville was much worse. Now he’s their senator ?

Have you listened to senators. Certainly not a mensa club in there.

You're letting the shite shotgunning that goes on with message boards get the best of you. Posters of both fanbases have obviously gotten into their feelings the last week or two.

All the gumps who thought he was heir apparent to replace Saban at the mighty University of Alabama will go crazy like they did on Cam in 2010!

Spoken like a true dumbass. The vast majority of BAMA fans KNOW Lane Kiffin will never be head coach at Alabama. He burned bridges, and there are people at UA who are most likely not willing to forgive him.

Regardless, Kiffin will stay in Oxford. Kiffin will not be willing to take the paycheck for putting up with Auburn's bullshite while inevitably ruining his career. He'll be offered a better job than Auburn if he's patient.

Yeah this whole "anyone can get run and get elected" nonsense is really having some poor consequences.

Man I honestly don't know. It's getting to a really strange place. Will a blue blood give this guy more than $11M/yr just to get blown out by an Arky like team and deal with the twitter beefs?

All kidding aside, this has to be exhausting from a fan, recruiting and administrative perspective. I know y'all went through the same last year.

Bright side is, if he does leave, I think the narrative will be that Ole Miss is a really good job and arguably the best one available this year.

gumps going to gump.

bama has a long history of coaches being successful elewhere.

you have bear, saban and howard. The rest either did shite elsewhere or were run out of the game for cheating. some were run out of the game for cheating after they left from under bear's belt. There is quite a list of those.

Auburn is historically a top 15 program.

The way Kiffin is I can almost hear this at the introductory press conference “well he said I was stepping down on Friday and I didn’t step down until Sunday so he was wrong.” Or something like that.

If this happened two weeks ago at 9-0 , OM would be losing their minds

It’s ok now bc you lost two in a row

Congrats on being a 7 win program. Maybe you'll get back to that high standard next season.

Agreed - other than Nebraska probably unless someone unexpected gets fired.

All OM trolling aside, it's a better job than Nebraska. Outside of Vandy, UK, USC, Mizzou and MSU, all others are above simply for being in the SEC.
