It’s contributing something that’s at least factual.

I mean general stupidity of this country definitely annoys me at times so I guess you technically could be correct.
Eh... a lot of OM poster sentiment has definitely pivoted from "no way he would leave for AU" to "if he's going to do this we don't want him anyways"... not saying you in particular but there's definitely a change in tone of the OM posters.

If true, he needs to keep Caddy as recruiting director and assistant coach

No ole miss fan is saying “we don’t want him anyways”
We’re just aware of the cost/benefit and are questioning if all of this is worth it. We’d obviously more than prefer him to stay.

If the costs outweighs the benefit, what would be another way to phrase that?
Posted on 11/22/22 at 12:23 pm to Weagle25
The only evidence you could provide was a thread title which also included “auburn fans don’t want him”.
So are you saying auburn fans also don’t want him?

That he hasn’t shown to be worth $90million or whatever it is you guys are offering.
That =\= “we don’t want him”
I really….truly….hope this helps clear things up for you.

I didn’t look for evidence because there’s no point.
But you also just pretty much admitted to it so I didn’t even have to look for evidence.
Ole Miss fan can speak for ole miss. Can’t speak for Auburn.

You don’t even know the contract number so nice deflection

It’s very clear you don’t understand what the word “deflection” means.
That figure came from auburn fans on this board and that ours likely $9.5mill a year.

If Kiffin does actually come to Auburn, I will enjoy your posting.
Also, you’re an idiot. Gotta make sure I post that more

Fair enough... that's a very nuanced take. It feels like OM fans are walking a fine line of... "we want him but if he doesn't want us or doesn't want to stay on our terms then we don't want him"... trying to have it both ways.

if y’all are wanting to pay the guy that much more than we’re offering, go for it.

One thing Ole Miss fans should ask ourselves is this - is the drama worth getting destroyed by a .500 team that lost to Liberty? Last year it was LSU rumors, year before it was Miami rumors....getting pretty old. And the team will be distracted going into the Egg Bowl.... meh.

I won't be that upset if he actually does go to Auburn. Huge red flag by doing that.
quote:
Yeah we will probably end up with a better coach too

The moment that number gets to $10 million we need to tell him to walk.

He will be in T-town Saturday on the sidelines wearing burnt orange and navy blue.
All the gumps who thought he was heir apparent to replace Saban at the mighty University of Alabama will go crazy like they did on Cam in 2010!
Buck Fama!

A) be honest with yourself. If both jobs were open right now and he could pick either one, which one do you think he takes?
B) we won’t go crazy about it at all. We’ve played against him in conference at Ole Miss for years. Know what to expect. Like Lane. Wish him well except one game per year (unless losing others benefits Bama).

It’s not trying to have it both ways, it is a logical and rational line of thinking.
We are not talking about Nick Saban fresh off 6 NCs, we are talking about Lane Kiffin. Sure, in a vacuum it would be great to have him for 10 years and see how high we can get, but that vacuum is not reality. Reality is that he has yet to get a signature win, and just got donkey punched by Arkansas largely due to focus issues from this current fiasco.
So, at that point, it becomes rational to question whether putting up with these kind of distractions while the hardware is not there to pacify that is really worth paying someone $10M per year. It is not having it both ways.

I really don't understand why it's so difficult to understand this.
