FSU wasn't allowed to compete due to loss of their QB, the verbage by the rules committee "loss of key personal including coaches" would Kiffin be liable for lost revenue for taking another job while under contract and causing irreparable damage to Ole Miss and possibly LSU also be held responsible ? Just curious from a legal standpoint

Can you imagine tRant if Lane causes Ole Miss to lose out on the playoffs and for LSU to lose millions in a lawsuit...

...and then Lane gets fired in two or three years.

So the playoff committee was right.

Could he be sued? Sure.

Would Kiffin be found liable? Probably not.

Doesn't make sense to penalize a team for it in 12 team playoff. Maybe if we lose the Egg Bowl but even then, it's resume vs. resume and last time I checked, Jordan Travis scored more touchdowns than Lane Kiffin.

But this CFP committee seems very stupid so who knows.

I would feel icky as a fan if my team hired a coach that quit in the middle of contending for a championship, that being said I hope lincoln Rileys anal herpes have a flare up today, and may his swamp arse be eternal.

Well, since you asked I’m happy to share that the second biggest beatdown in bowl game history occurred when UGA won their second straight national championship 65 to 7 over TCU.

Committee could possibly force our hand and tell us keep Lane onboard if we want to play in CFP.

At that point...Lane has leverage again..and he will be an even bigger arse clown.

As a lifelong Rebel fan..I'd rather not play in it than give lane the satisfaction coaching the Rebels in it...if he's accepted the job at FL or LSU.

But, for the players who busted their arse all season to get to where they are....they deserve better....so I'd prob let the team vote and make the call.

LSU set the record for the largest margin of victory in a bowl game (Citrus) when LSU played in their bowl game the following season, UGA had already broken it twice.

They don't even have to do that. They should just do what LSU is doing and make up a bunch of crap in a shady attempt to get out of paying money that is owed to their coach.

Anyone can be sued for anything, it doesn't mean the suit would have any merit.

CFP committee would have a hard time predicting if there would be a significant drop in on field performance without Kiffin on the sideline if he coaches the Egg Bowl.

They had that proof with FSU. It was a clear drop in onfield performance.

They'd be smart to let Lane finish the regular season to balance against that talking point if the interim and/or team blow the game badly in the Egg Bowl.

I understand LSU firing Kelly and trying to hire Kiffin it's a big mess for everyone especially after the year we are having. 6 years in today's coaching world is a long time ..except at Iowa and Utah..Iowa has only had 2 coaches since 1979..let that sink in..
LSU has talent in place ..it was supposed to be a national championship contender...but the problem is lots of pressure.. he can't and shouldn't ever have a season like LSU did this year and if he takes that job while Ole Miss is in the playoffs it will probably be his last coaching job at a SEC program his reputation will take a huge hit ..well maybe not I forgot Auburn would hire him ..I'm surprised Art Briles isn't a candidate for them at this point
