If Johnny Manziel doesn't win another Heisman, is it out of spite?

The guy is still obviously the best player in college football.

1489 passing yards
14 passing touchdowns
314 rushing yards
3 rushing touchdowns

He is well on his way to another ridiculous year.

If he keeps up these stats, there is NO way he doesn't repeat.

Very well could be. The voters may feel they want to teach him a lesson in humility quite frankly.

i wouldn't say spite so much as being used to his numbers. If he has the same numbers, I don't see him dominating the award. If his numbers improve significantly, then yeah, give it to him already.

Also, I was looking at the NCAA stats and Oregon States quarterback has already thrown 21 touchdown passes.

oh I think there is. I think there is probably 10% of the voters that will not vote for him under any circumstances and simply leave him off the ballot. And if someone else makes a decent case, that would sink him.

I don't know -- ESPN hasn't tipped their hand yet as to who they'll tout as the "never mind the stats, it's the great story that counts" candidate. They were all over T'eo by this time last year.

Seemed like Clowney was a lock, but he hasn't exactly lit the world on fire this season. He is clearly out of the good graces of our friends in Conn. at the moment.

I think his biggest threat right now is Tajh Boyd. But as soon as Clemson fricks up and loses to a lesser opponent, Boyd will be out. Assuming that happens... Braxton Miller is behind the 8-ball and frick Bridgewater.

Have to win out to win the Heisman IMO

Beating LSU late in the year can/will put him over the top IF we do it

Beating Bama would have really helped his case: every heisman winner from the SEC in the BCS era basically won the award by beating Bama (cept Ingram of course). But alas, he will not have that on his resume this year.

If you just go on pure stats Mariota is doing better.

I think Stanford may take care of him, plus he may have just lost Black Mamba. I dunno what the story is on DeAnt though.
