Just seems like Arnold has talent. He needs a good OC that could teach him how to play QB.

Has nothing to do with coaching. He’s just not that good.

Grubb has a great feel on passing attack but his running calls are very primitive. Ty accuracy is saving him many times after Grubb has wasted a few plays on low % running plays.

It also doesn’t help that Alabama does not have a stud running back. Jam Miller is good. But he is not great. There are plays where he has a seam or hole but doesn’t have the vision to see it. Justice Haynes was supposed to be the guy. And he is, the problem is he is doing it at Michigan.

I'm not sure if Lincoln Riley can fix Jackson Arnold. The problem that he has is in his own head.

How much better would he be as a QB? Could they turn him into a serious NFL prospect or is there just no hope for the guy?

He wouldn't be any better because Arnold has problems seeing the field, just like Milroe did. The only difference is Milroe was an athletic freak so teams had to heavily respect him tucking it and running so it opened up more passing lanes. Arnold doesn't have that type of athleticism so teams don't have to respect his running as much. But I don't think Grubb and DeBoer could do much better than Freeze. Players matter and you can't win the Kentucky Derby with a pack mule.

Doesn't Hugh only call first down plays? You cant really blame him for second and third down lol.

Short of running a HS option attack with an elite OL I don’t think it matters what you call for Arnold.

He would still hold the ball too long.

And then throw a pick

It means Alabama would have 3-4 losses at this point in the season.

Ole Piss and Freeze were paying for recruits. The only reason they could compete with Alabama.

We were assured before the season that Oklahoma was the problem last year for Arnold. We were assured that with three future NFL receivers he would be a star this season. After the Baylor game he was touted by Auburn fans as the best QB in the SEC. That seems so long ago now.

Arnold isn't salvageable.

He has no innate "real QB" attributes at all.

He's a RB playing QB.

Yeah, the running game being entirely dependent on whether or not Jam Miller is healthy is my biggest concern, followed by what seems like a tendency to go into a shell when he has a second half lead.

Presuming you mean Ty, the play calling becomes more conservative in the second half with the lead.

We minimize mistakes and hold onto the ball longer, reducing the number of chances the opposing team gets to retake the lead.

So far it seems to be working well, even if does generate its fair share of heart attacks.
