If I’m Woody… you don’t let that one go. You press the issue and demand a Formal Apology

Woody shouldn’t call off the dogs just because the baseball gods intervened. That was a clear cut concerted effort to steal the game and influence the outcome. If I’m Woody, you demand formal Apologies from the SEC and nothing short of complete banishment for those incompetent umpires. That’s just my 2 cents.

Tell your players to stop breaking rules.

Over a game that doesn’t matter? Insecure coonass.

The University of Alabama needs to be held accountable. They are behind all of this. Rat bastards.

Please stop embarrassing us. We won. Move on.

It’s not embarrassing. The officiating in baseball, college and pro, has become atrocious.

It is embarrassing. Stop being this victim of a grande conspiracy. The very next inning we had a call go our way on the pitch clock and then we walked it off.
Posted on 5/26/24 at 10:53 am to DeafJam73
I didn’t say it was a conspiracy. I said consistent bad officiating needs to be called out which is why I agree with OP.
You don’t have to agree. But it’s not embarrassing, by any stretch.

That’s all you do, here, about your “never-was” program.

Correct. Alabama runs LSU. It is just the natural order of things. Be grateful we let you have baseball.
Speaking of baseball, why do the self proclaimed kings of college baseball have so much trouble understanding the rules of baseball?

Then get off your arse and become an umpire .......

Woody never challenges Sankey...as he probably has ambitions to take his job at some point.
Woody falls in line with the rest, afraid to challenge and call out right/wrong...its easy to "go along" when you get paid 7digits to nod your head and spend other people's money...

Please enlighten us on what rule was broken because replay clearly shows he did not break the rules but the SC batter clearly left the batters box before the pitch without time called and rewarded and should have been given a strike which would have ended the inning…

You guys expect way too much perfection out of a part time, 30-40k a year profession, particularly in non or low revenue sports. These refs/umps have to make split second, real time decisions, live, on national television, with thousands of screaming fans and two coaches chomping at the bit to scream and cuss them out in a workplace that encourages such behavior.
Would you expect that level of performance from the receptionist at your dentist office? Chill out.

This was already debunked in another thread. You continuing to say it won’t change it either.
NCAA Rule on Batter Leaving Box
quote:
b. A batter shall not leave his position in the batter’s box after the pitcher comes to the set position or starts the windup unless permission is granted by the umpire. PENALTY for b —If the pitcher pitches, the umpire shall call “ball” or “strike,” as the case may be. The batter leaves the batter’s box at the risk of having a strike delivered, unless “Time” is requested and granted from the umpire. If the pitch is made, the ball is live.

I would expect her to do her job at the level required to keep it, yes

Pitcher was set, and in fact in motion and time was not called.
So what are you trying to say?

The penalty is having either a ball or strike called. The ball never made it to the plate, so that couldn’t happen. The auto-strike “rule” LSUrulz (and many others) keeps quoting doesn’t exist in college baseball.
