If Georgia doesn’t beat Bama this year what is Kirby gonna sell to recruits?

It’s pretty obvious one of Kirby’s big pitches is come help beat Bama instead of joining Bama and he is responsible for our LBs. Well if he fails for a 3rd year in a row against Bama how will that affect his credibility with recruits?

Yea I'm pretty sure as long as Kirby is at Georgia he's going to be hell on wheels recruiting.

The same thing Bobby Bowden sold his recruits. The same thing Dabo sold his recruits. The same thing Tom Osborne sold his recruits. The same thing Steve Spurrier sold his recrutis. The same thing Phil Fulmer sold his recruits.

Do you get that this is a ridiculous question? He has been a head coach for 3 years, can you list all the head coaches who won a national title within their first 4 years of becoming a head coach?

I can think of one right off the top of my head, Jimbo Fisher. That is about it.

It won't. Kirby and Saban only go head to head for a couple of recruits per year.

I'm pretty sure that's everyone recruiting pitch against Saban. Do you know how lucky we've been to beaten Georgia the last two years?

It took Saban over 10 years to win his first natty and Dabo 9. I’m guessing he’ll sell them the same thing they did.

If we keep it close, I would think he would say, "We are close. maybe one or two players away. You could be the piece that puts us over the top."

But...why speculate on that? Seems rather pointless to guess who will beat who and what they might say while recruiting. I really don't care what he says while recruiting, personally.

I heard an interview Kirby did with an Atlanta sports station, when he was still DC at Alabama.

He is an excellent recruiter but he sounded like he was getting kind of burnt out on recruiting even then. Actually mentioned that as a reason why college coaches like to dream of moving to NFl gigs - you know where you just work like a normal 120 hour week job.

If that door ever opens for him, I actually think he'd like to make the jump. Maybe he wants to win it all at Georgia once, but if some pro team is interested he'll have to make the decision about going whether that has happened or not.
