If DeBorer went 9-3 in each of his first three seasons, would he be run off?

9-3 may be good enough for a spot in the playoff. So, I don't know.

Depends on how and who we lose to, as well as post season considerations.

Depends on what kind of roster he ends up taking over. He's walking into a good culture, so he doesn't have to fix that part as most coaches do when they take over for a fired coach.

There would be bricks through the window IMO.

I wouldn't be surprised if 9-3 with the right resume makes the playoffs once. Really just depends. The problem with these hypotheticals is you can't really know the vibes. Like, if DeBoer went 9-3 in 2024 with a wins of Georgia, Tennessee, and Auburn then most people would just have some gripes about dropping some games "they shouldn'tve." The thing that kills a tenure at any school is consistently losing to good teams and rivals.

Easily this.

Why does everyone think he will go 9-3 when he won more than that at Washington. He will have better everything at Bama. If they win, players will want to play for Bama.

Bunch of hee and haw in here, the answer is no he would not be. Alabama got lucky twice getting two all time great coaches.

As long as his loses were not to the Barn,LSU,and the Vols it would be a no issue.

Kelly is average 3.5 losses per year. I guess he has 1 more year

If Bama loses 3 straight to Auburn, YES.

9-3 would indicate 3 regular season losses. Most assuredly out of the playoff picture.
If Bama’s a three loss team, then they’re losing to the top teams in the conference plus an additional mid-tier. So it’s be loss to Georgia, LSU, and a loss to Ole Miss.
Factor in those losses could be Tennessee or Auburn, and you’ve got some seriously disgruntled fans.

You don't even realize that includes competition?

Portal open because coach left. Everyone’s NIL collective can tamper with Alabama’s roster to encourage them into the portal. Alabama’s roster could be a dramatically different situation than it projected to be with Saban in 2024.

Depends on recruiting usually. Buys you more time if you’re successful.
Honestly I think if he had 2 9-3 seasons and finished 20ish in recruiting, he’d be gone.

Is that Kelly's avg season record at LSU right now? You guys running him off?

Idk. Tough to say. Probably not on my part, yet. Also depends on which rivals we beat/lose to. Gotta be in SEC title contention period.
The bar must be lowered right away for expectations. Aggressive but realistic.
