Bama is convinced that every year is Saban's best coaching job.

I know this is a smart arse remark but part of the reason they're always in the hunt is because he adapts the team's approach to the talent. Even when he's working with a lesser team than the prior year, he's still signing talent and he doesn't waste it.

I would say that some years he's at the right intersection of talent and experience that he's not having to work quite as hard to mask deficiencies. The 2020 team was so stacked on offense, they could afford to spend most of the season figuring out how to play defense.

Also, some years they've arguably underachieved relative to overall talent but it is hard to pin Saban as the reason for that gap like 2010 and 2019 (arguably one of the emptiest 11-2 seasons in SEC history).

No, almost the opposite. The SEC was down this year, but Saban and Bama didn't dominate.

Definitely. This Bama team is almost as untalented as the 1991 Texas State Fighting Armadillos. They do have a Heisman winning QB and aren't counting on a 34 year old QB or a physics professor to start on the O and D Line.

Lol very underrated movie.

It's easy to look good with Bama's roster.

If we want to see how good Saban REALLY is, let him coach at Vandy for 4 years...

Why wouldn’t the years where his teams seemed unbeatable be his best coaching?

Isn’t getting talent part of college coaching?

At the beginning of the season Bama wasn't even supposed to win the SEC West.

Is this kinda like when the Bammer players insisted they were underdogs against Cincinnati?

No, this is kinda like when a lot of places were predicting Texas A&M to win the West because Alabama lost a frick ton from the previous year.

Totally agree. This season is already a success. Anything more is just gravy.

I don’t think Saban could win a national title at Vanderbilt but he could take them to a NY6 bowl. Even in his advanced age.
