No, but the natives will be going nuts on Finebaum the following week. His buyout is $70 million, we're stuck with him for three years, be it good, bad or indifferent.

FSU turned the roster over and should be improved. But he would have no business losing to them. But I also said that last year about three teams.

I expect a better team in 2025. But still have to prove it.

Only an idiot would want to fire a coach after the first game of his 2nd year, but like any program, we do have a lot if idiot fans

You created multiple threads in BK's second year at LSU suggesting he was a bad coach and would be fired.

The most talented roster in the country?

This time last year Rant posters said Alabama's roster was decimated by the transfer portal after Saban retired.

That aside, in the NFL draft, Alabama players went
#12
#31
#92 (late 3rd rd)
and a few others in late rounds

Worst NFL draft for Alabama in a very long time. But we were loaded !!

I don't know if I said bad but may have.

The fact is he's a consistent 8-4/9-3 coach, and if he doesn't improve, will nearly certainly be fired eventually. The problem is that in this ever increasing pay for play college football world, most programs, and certainly including LSU, don't have the discretionary funds just to buy out huge contracts (hi to LSU AD Woodward), spend multi millions on a new staff, and pay players the going rate too. Example: Underwood. So enjoy.

edit: You talking to another poster, but I have said the entire time, as well, that Kelly is average at best

Both things can be true.

Bama lost a lot of talent but was still the most talented roster in the country, per the 247 Team Talent Composite.

I think he'd retire before he was fired.

My point is that it looks foolish to blast Kelly for his performance and then make excuses for DeBoer's. They're very similar coaches, resume wise.

if Alabama still has the most talented roster (I doubt it), it's because DeBoer has recrutited the 2nd and 3rd ranked classes since he's been here, because judging by the 2025 draft, Saban's last few classes must have been over rated. In fact, that's another thing. We've heard for years about an "Alabama bump" but now you claim that UA has the best roster, though pre season last yr you agreed with the Rant posters that said Alabama's roster had been decimated by the transfer portal after Saban retired.

I've never said anything about a "Bama bump" so can't speak to that.

As I said, both things can be true at the same time.

We can objectively measure head to head, Kelly in his 3rd yr (he said judge me by my 3rd yr) and DeBoer's first year, with Jalen Fn Milroe at qb

Alabama 42 LSU 13
Nussmeir 1 td and 2 interceptions. That kid is a turnover machine.

That's a good "shite talking" point but we both know it really doesn't mean anything.

LSU’s roster was ranked the 8th most talented roster in college football. Yet LSU finished the season unranked. What explains that? That 24/7 roster rankings are very flawed because they are based on high school recruiting rankings and ignore development in college? Or that LSU’s coaching was just complete dogshit? Or both?

It means LSU underperformed.

Both are true. But it’s also true that we had a very young roster last year. Way more freshmen playing key roles than we were used to.
