Gus poured out a lot of pre-season koolaid.
Now neither his pre-season All-SEC QB or his pre-season All-SEC WR are playing.
Really have to question Gus' competence since he was the preseason cheerleader for all this and his previous success came with Chizik's players.

What exactly did Gus say in the preseason?
Did he cast all the preseason media votes?

You know what's gonna happen they get some QB who was kicked off a SEC team. Said player starts at QB with new coach then they win the SEC and go to the Natty. Jacobs has it down to a science.

We have our eyes on a DB from Florida at the moment.

There are a lot of SEC teams (including LSU) who have their ups and downs but I have to say Auburn is really about the most remarkable when it comes to feast or famine. To go from absolutely terrible (0-8) to outstanding (even 8-0) and then terrible again just isn't something we see a lot of from other SEC teams.
What is it about Auburn?

-2.5 against Kentucky is as good as being an underdog IMO. This is a team that was in a NC and now they're barely a pick against one of the worst teams in the conference?
If Kentucky wins, they will have the same record as Alabama.

I've alwaya wondered the same. I seem to recall Auburn always been competitive under Tommy Tubbs but they started to get really bad at the end there (which is why he got canned) but since then it seems like they are insanely bi-polar.

If you really look at Auburn's situation they really have done well overall. They are not a Bama . LSU, UGA, FLA , OSU, Mich, USC and recruiting comes easier to them. Auburn is going to experience more of a roller coaster in accomplishments. Not all Auburn fans want to accept this truth, but truth it is. We will never be able to reload with an abundance of top athletes year n and year out where 3 losses is a horrible season IMO.
You take that into account and look at Auburn's win totals, bowl wins, SEC titles, special athletes, Heisman's, etc. Auburn does a great job. I would love to be more consistent in wins and losses, but if we can play for championships every so often and have some cool games, and make a run toward the title. I will take it over many other school's situations.

I think a good bit of it will rely on how well they play against Bama, which could also be the last game of the year.
If they win - he's good for 1 more year no matter what.
If they keep it respectable - probably make it another year.
If they get blown out - he gone.

They've gotta have that awesome luck and a tPOS QB from another team to do anything.

Auburn is the biggest schizo team in the SEC. Almost feast or famine. It would drive me nuts as a fan.

I honestly think this game will set the tone for the rest of the season. It could go either way
