It was really a pretty risky play call not having any kind of underneath route as an outlet considering Tua's injury. That was a very long developing play.

you're obviously very upset about something, i'm assuming it's something else because getting as upset as you are over whether or not a play qualified as a hail mary is so stupid.

You take things too seriously is my guess. It's the internet and debating is fun. Nobody debates if everyone is sucking each others dick.

I'm betting the guy who broke to the middle would have been the intended target if Devonta hadn't got open.

The two left receivers are running go/fly routes. The guy in the slot on the right runs a corner, guy on the outside runs a post.

They keep the back in to protect because they know they need to time to throw downfield (12 point deficit, 1:34 remaining).

Tua looks right first, both receivers look bracketed to him so he comes back left and throws to Smith because the slot receiver is double covered. Smith really didnt beat Stingley bad till the pass had already been thrown.

It was a Hail Mary by definition and Smith had a hell of a game.

It was a terrible defensive call by Aranda in that situation.

They had to score fast. Thats why they kept the back in to protect.

The guy who broke to the middle was behind the other receivers. It seems pretty obvious to me the play was designed to push the DB's back, leaving the guy open in the middle, hopefully with some room to run.

When Devonta was open, he threw it to him for the obvious TD.

That is a play that probably got ran multiple times over the course of a game, but whatever you need to make yourself feel better I guess. Some of you LSU fans are delusional win or lose I guess.

They still could have had a WR run a slant or a drag or something more underneath other than 4 deep routes. Even a 7-10 yard route near the sideline would have given Tua somewhere to go with the ball to avoid a possible sack if he got pressured.

He was going to be the checkdown guy if the go routes werent open.

A Hail Mary isnt necessarily a "play" its more about the situation in which a play was ran.

Not sure what was left underneath as far as a RB or anything like that goes.

They probably expected LSU to play back and protect the deep side of the field. At that point, all you want to do is prevent the big play and eat up as much clock as possible. The middle would have been open, but then you expect to make the tackle and chew up clock.

Even with the TD LSU still managed to eat the clock, so didn't matter.

The guy running the post was going to be the checkdown. Very long developing play but when you're down by 12 with 1:34 remaining you cant piddle around.

I dont understand Aranda's play call at all. He's dropping two guys into the middle of the field and they clearly werent deep enough anyway, even if Smith wasnt open.

Terrible call.

Worry about me when I start going into threads and getting all pissed off about a gif without even knowing why it was posted to start with.

He's in a no-win situation really. People bitch about prevent defense, "prevents the win" etc. Because teams are going to take the underneath stuff, stop the clock etc and march the majority of the field.

That's what that play was designed to take advantage of.

Or you can try to press them and play the same way you've been playing all game.

I get that, but if you have a 12 point lead with 1:34 left, you have to make them earn it. You cant leave a true freshman on an island vs. Smith who'd already burned him.

With Bama's receivers, I'll take a 3rd and Chavis scheme in that situation every time

If Georgia was worth a shite it would have won a Title since 1980 instead of being a pretender.

Combined score of last two LSU v UGa games: 73-26
Combined score of last two Bama v UGa games: 61-51

UGa 0-4 vs Big2!

BTW, Bama never lead in the LSU game. LSU responded to every Bama score.
If you raised you IQ by 10 points you’d move from imbecile to moron.
