In all honesty, even IF (very big If) Georgia loses to Alabama, they would still be vastly superior to the rest of the top 10. If the committee's job is to get the four best teams in, how is UGA still not considered one of the best teams when compared to Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Washington, etc.?

That's not their job and it literally never has been. Just look at the history, look at what they have actually done. Their job is to get in the most deserving/best resume. Period. Always has.

Alabama would have beaten TCU last year I'm sure of it. Saban even took to whining publicly about "how many teams would vegas favor against us". That's irrelevant...TCU had better wins (and more of them) while bama had multiple losses and didn't win its division. TCU was more deserving and thus got the nod.

In my opinion, there is zero doubt whatsoever in my mind that we are one of the 4 best teams in america. No doubt in any way. But if we lose to bama and are a 1 loss non-champion, and there are 4 other P5 champions with 0/1 loss, objectively on paper they would probably get the nod due to having a "better resume" although I absolutely do not think they woudl be a "better team" than us.

Where have we heard this before? I've never understood why teams just let Brock Bowers run his route without getting touched settling into a hole in a zone or running free against man. If I am a DC he's getting stood up at the LOS knocked off his route I am taking him away and if I get beat he won't beat me. UGA has some good players but when it's crunch time that's where they go. Stop the run get really physical with Bowers and see how it works out

I can’t believe no one has tried that before. You should set up a meeting with Saban and let him in on the plan. Meanwhile, I will email Michigan with my plan to just cover Marvin Harrison Jr with 2 guys…

"Four best teams" is only a catch phrase at this point.

CBS is desperate for a B1G Championship.

Have you not noticed how much unwarranted hype Penn State and Notre Dame have received just to bolster the Ohio State and Michigan resumes?

We all know that Alabama was better than TCU last year, but TCU was slotted to be an easy win for Michigan until the Wolverines choked like a team that had only played one tough game all regular season.

For some reason I have a strange feeling that Auburn didn't even bother to prepare for New Mexico and is now waiting in the brush to ambush Alabama.

That would really throw a wrench into the whole SEC saga.

If Bama were to lose to Aub then this two loss team beat Ga, the rest of the country would try everything in their power to leave the SEC out! They hate us!

PROBABLY, but not definitely. Assuming 3 other slots are already spoken for and you have 12-1 big 12 champ texas and 12-1 sec champ alabama, how big does the H2H come into play? It would be intresting. Personally, I think the big signature win over UGA would get alabama in but I don't think it's a 100% slam dunk either.

If Georgia remains #1 this week and I see no reason why they won't I still am not sure they are 'out' if they lose to Alabama say 20-17. I don't see Georgia dropping all the way to #5 in that scenario. They dropped them to #3 after an absolute drubbing in SEC Championship in 2021 where Georgia gave up a billion yards.

Hate to break it to you, but whoever wins between OSU/Michigan will be deemed to have a better win than a UGA win over Bama.

Georgia will be #2 at best. Not sure I agree with that, but I don’t see that changing… even with a win over Bama

Solid plan, but easier said than done because he is a physical freak and general isn't phased by that sort of physicality, especially from a 5'11 185lb DB

That dude is 6'3 240 lbs and runs like a 4.5 40

Most SEC fans assume SEC champ is in no matter what. But I remember when a committee bumped LSU from no1 in 2019, which is considered now the best college football team ever. These people in the committee can’t be trusted to judge an entire body of work fairly.

Sarcasm?

LSU was #1 in the final CFP poll released the following day after the SEC championship game.

Yes, but LSU was dropped from no1 during the regular season by the playoff committee and Ohio St replaced us. Which is also what happened to Ga this season. These morons can’t be trusted.

I think if Bama beats Georgia, they are in. Based on 2 things:
1. They are now one of the best 4 teams.
2. Beating #1 Georgia trumps losing to a lesser ranked Texas early in season.

Bama lost by 10 at home. They ain't getting in the playoff. Enjoy the Cotton Bowl.
