You aren't going to get much respect from defenses regarding your run game. Most Ds you face are going to dial up a plethra of blitz packages. I expect a lot of 4 and 5 wide sets from ole miss and not a heck of a lot of TOP. The rebs QB is going to have to do much better than %54 comp to win 7+.

The passing game should be good but State and Vandy seemed to figure out Shea at the end of the year. I'll chalk it up to him being a freshman, however. Receivers are stacked. Especially Jefferson and Metcalf. Those dudes are going to be really good. I was not impressed by Brown last year but that may just be my bias. I don't care who y'all throw out there at TE, as long as it's not Engram lol. Not worried about the running game but there is talent there. All depends on the o-line depth. Y'all always seem to lose 1-2 starters to injury by the time we play yall.

I do find it very funny that ole miss media has projected them to beat Lsu.

I agree, your attorneys are offensive, but what you guys need are some attorneys who can put up a good defense vs. attempted turd slinging as a distraction to all of your transgressions.

Not going to come here and tell you that our team will be anything other than average. However, our run game should be improved. Longo has a lot of downhill running incorporated into his version of the spread. Should have a better Oline this year. Also getting our top running three rbs back from ineligibility/injury (Wilkins/Swinney/Pennamon).

Going to depart from the normal football analysis for something that has more to do with the Ole Miss perception than football.
The reason I think Ole Miss is underrated this year, isn't because I've studied the depth chart and found some hidden gems...it's because in my way too many years, I've figured out a few truths regarding human behavior. Among them is 1. People overreact. They become so infatuated with one factor or trend, they come to believe that it is the only factor/trend that matters. That's how millions believed that property values would continue to rise at 2007 rates forever, and on the flip side, that the DOW would reach 2,000 and never recover. 2. People enable each other via mob mentality to supercharge this condition. Things they probably wouldn't believe on their own, the believe because of momentum within a mob mentality...this is how you end up with the absolute hysteria at Mizzou.
This idea that all things Ole Miss are now destined to fail caught fire...and although, nothing other than the departure of Freeze has occurred to yield a poor product on the field of play, the perception gets worse with each passing week. They are still the same players that were expected to have a mediocre season, yet every week the outlook gets worse, while the factors that actually generate an outcome on the field haven't changed. "Freeze made hundreds of calls to a booster. Now they are REALLY going to be bad this year".
The same thing happened with Penn State...same fate predicted. Yet, they haven't had a losing season since the Paterno/Sandusky fiasco and scholly reductions and went 9-4 that year and 8-4 the next.

See OM in the upper half of SEC offenses (~2nd to 3rd) .. see OM Defense in lower half of SEC (~11 to 13th)
Record depends on which stage of grief the team stays in the longest. They stay in 'denial & anger' they will win more than they lose .. they get to 'depression' early on and they could lose more than they win.
*The five stages, denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance are a part of the framework that makes up our learning to live with loss.
