Houston Nutt did this number every year for 4-5 years before he got the boot.

Nutt never did it in a year they had a legitimate shot at winning a title. This is the sleaziest exit I've seen in a long time. Tuberville leaving recruits at the dinner table and not even bothering to say he wasn't coming back so he could frick off to his new gig is the only thing that comes close off the top of my head.

You think very wrong because you want him at LSU. How can you not realize this?

TuberVILE sets a very low bar as a human being. And that’s not about liberal vs conservative. The guy is just a scumbag in human form. Literally any other Republican with a pulse in Alabama would be an improvement

Since Kiffin has basically dropped a nuclear bomb on all his bridges at Ole Miss I think he pretty much has to win the title this season to repair some of the damage. That’s if he decides to stay. If he stays and doesn’t win the title then he will take 100% of the blame and boosters and donors will stop writing checks. People will stop giving to these Ole Miss nil collectives. People has went out of their way to give him what he has needed to succeed. Well he will see that reverse. Both Kiffin and Ole Miss may be better off to just part ways at this point just to be honest about it.

If I were in charge at Ole Miss I would tell Lane to go to LSU or UF. Allow him to finish the year out if he wants but tell him he needs to take one of those jobs. I would get it out in public asap and immediately go hire the coach at South Florida and hope like hell the guy works out. Like I said earlier the only way to smooth all this out is to win the natty this season and also announce he will be back next season asap. I don’t think Kiffin is can go all the way. Anything is possible and he certainly has the talent to do it this year. I think you realistically have to say that Lane will most likely be an early out of the playoff and that will just make the current situation even worse and then you have to worry about all this bleeding over into next season and blowing it up too. It’s probably better just to chance a fresh start with another coach at this point.

This and the other guy saying OM can do better is completely insane. There is nothing in their history that suggests they can do better. This is as good as its ever been. You try to keep him as long as you can.

Kiffin has created a ton of hard feelings with not only everyone in charge but with the fans as well. The only way to ever get any of this smoothed over is for Kiffin to win a championship this season. Nothing in his background says he will be able to do that. With the money they were about to pay Kiffin then they could not only a good coach like the guy at South Florida but have some to spare for nil to help that guy get set up with some good players. More people would probably donate to the collective to rally around the new coach which works even more in the favor of Ole Miss after Kiffin has basically screwed them the past few weeks.

If OM hires the USF coach, they come out ahead in the long term.

He really did you guys a huge disservice. If he is going to leave I think you would have preferred it happen a couple of weeks ago. Leaving after the season means all the players for Ole Miss becomes immediately eligible for the portal and you will have every team in America trying to pick the players off the roster right before the playoffs start. If Kiffin stays to coach the team through the playoffs then maybe some stay but if he leaves I think a lot of key players may choose to leave. If Kiffin doesn’t want to stay and coach the team throughout the playoffs the why should they play and risk injury and missing time next year with their new teams.

If that were to happen I think the Ole Miss fan base would be putting the blame on Kiffin and his drama. Doing this to Ole Miss during the season and on the Eve of the play-off is unforgivable. He could have waited.
