His teams have shown vast improvement since he has been at Arky. Give him another year or two to get his players, and he will win a title west title, maybe more.

LSU fan here and Bielima is a good coach and only needs to improve recruiting every year and given time he will get the Hogs into contention.

The guy can coach a game and motivate his players, Bret took over a program in shambles and is turning it around. I hope the Hog fans give him some rope and this program will need 2 to 4 more years to get to the top.

The Hogs have been in most of the games the last 3 years with few blow outs. Don't kid yourself Bielima can coach

It all depend on how highly you think of Arkansas' football program. If you think they have the worst program in the west then I could see your point , if you think they have a average SEC program then no way is he one of the best coaches in the SEC. I am thinking only UK and Vandy are the only teams that have not had better results then Arkansas since Bielema arrived.

He's a good coach, IMO. Competition in the SEC West is brutal, however, and he is suffering from relatively weak recruiting compared to his opponents. A good coach with a good team can still finish near the bottom of the division.

CBB is a good coach.
Nothing but improvement every year so far.
Had to start from scratch, literally.
Got to eliminate the slow starts of the last couple of years though.
The next few years will tell if he is one of the best.

He is a good coach but will never get the chance to prove at Arky as you state due to the recruiting disadvantage. The whole recruiting scene has become concentrated with only a few schools maintaining the ability to draw the talent over several cycles, not popping an occasional top five class, to win it all. Alabama, LSU, Florida State and Ohio State are the only current schools who consistently recruit at this level. Sleeping giants are USCe and maybe Michigan. Florida and Georgia might fall in that camp with the right coach. As of now, though, the rich will continue to get richer. Oklahoma gets top 20 classes as does Michigan State. Not enough and Arky could only dream to recruit at that level

I think that's true.

I think that's somewhat true but somewhat foolish with the 'never' and 'could only dream of' comments. Have a few really good seasons and you'll get good recruits- unfortunately many wouldn't come from in state, that's our main problem in regards to recruiting.

From a coaching stand point he has a top 2 staff in the sec. Pretty sure he won't win many recruting battles vs freeze or butch jones n he likes it that way

Please provide me his overall record since being at Arkansas. As well as his SEC record..

One of the best coaches in the SEC shouldn't lose to Toledo and Texas Tech in the same season. And there's no excuse as he had a veteran QB even

Probably true because regardless what anyone thinks of Bret he's really not into recruiting the shady type and enabling their ways.

He's 18-20 overall at Arkansas and they had a decent program before him. I really do not see the hype over a guy who went an entire year winless in the SEC and has dropped multiple regular season OOC games..

First season he went 0-8 in the SEC and lost to Rutgers

Only way to go from there is up.. Doesn't mean he should get too much credit given they still have been Mediocre

He goes 2-6 in the SEC next season

He goes 5-3 in the SEC last year but
Still drops OOC games to Toledo and Texas Tech, ha.

7 wins 17 losses in SEC play

The Ole Miss miraculous win really makes it look better than 6-18. He deserves credit for that win though because he kept it within reach at their place. And he did beat us twice so good on them! I still don't think he's as good as made out to be.

Nothing excuses the losses in OOC but you don't seem to really understand what happened before he came here.
