Last years Clemson D lost 7 starters and all 7 were drafted in the NFL. How does Clemson replace that prolific Defense? They can't. That's Auburn's opportunity. Watson will do his magic but if Auburn can slow him down and complete some passes to open up a little running room the 7 point spread could disappear and Auburn could upset Dabo's Tigers.
Also, one of their new starting DE's is gone for the season and they have another DE that has been nursing an injury for the past couple of weeks.

Clemson has a lot of weaknesses and their QB is highly overrated.
Wow when did the #1 projected pick in next years Draft become overrated??

You can't talk logically with an Aubie.

Really would be nice if we could win the SEC vs ACC matchups week one. I just don't see it happening.

Yep, there's never been a #1 NFL pick that was overrated

And that happened for the second year in a row.

I love how the Aubies are grasping at straws.Truth is, it is better to play a qb like Watson in week 1 than late. Auburn has little chance in a shootout, but a decent shot in a low scoring affair. If Auburn can actually run some clock and practice ball control, they might be able to limit the number of times Clemson gets the ball, then they'll have an excellent shot. If Auburn can keep Clemson in third and long, and if they can run the ball, not play so fast, allowing their defense to rest, they could win. Not likely, however, i think Clemson wins 38-21.

Agreed. Seems Vegas gives them a fair shot too

Actually, 3 and long is where our defense faltered in the few last years. 3 and 9 + was an automatic first down.

be that as it may be, third and long might force Watson to pass, instead of running for the first down.

but it's a new year. Our DL and pass rush will be the deepest I can ever remember it, so please give me some 3rd and longs.

Clemson at -7 is the easiest money I'll ever make.

I respect everyones opinion but what I saw Clemson do against a GREAT Alabama defense was incredible. If Clemson plays with half the intensity they did in the NC game this game will be over by halftime. Watson is that good.
People seem to forget that A) Clemson played the entire season without their number 1 receiver last year. Mike Williams is back and is a sure fire first rounder. B) The NC game was played without Clemson's number 2 receiver. Deon Cain is going to light up Auburns secondary.
Auburn is fricked. Clemson by 17+

People may forget, but football fans realize the further you line up a way from the ball the less you matter. Clemson may indeed beat Auburn by 17 but it will be because of what DW and Gallman are doing and will have nothing to do with WR. They might make plays, but again it will be because of the threat of the run.

Even Clemson fans aren't homerish/haterish enough to expect a late night blowout in JHS on ESPN. But trolls will be trolls.
