I'm not sure, actually. It drops off significantly after that. I'd guess SMU maybe, but again I have no clue

It's not like the money comes from the university's endowment fund.

Not that this is a good thing, but we are fricking football crazy. There is very little that we would not do to have the best program around, if it is within our reach. Every Bama fan in the state would tithe their discretionary income if it meant us keeping Saban.

This is why this discussion is pointless. Athletic department revenue is what we should be using as a metric

I am not unhappy, nor am I angry. Nor am I convinced Saban is the next Texas coach.

But to say that A&M is richer than Texas is false.

We are The University of Texas. You aren't. Every move you make, we'll blow your doors off.

He's gonna stay. I'm about 95% sure. But this whole thing is fun.

You ain't in the SEC. You're a poor, irrelevant tsip stuck in the minors and still obsessed with A&M. Sucks.

Gig 'em

Texas A&M, est. 1876, Texas' oldest public university

But if we're talking a 3 million dollar difference, one booster would just buy that many t-shirts.

Or hell, just raise ticket prices $10. 7 home games + 102,000 tickets per game. That's seven million. Extra. Per year. Done.

Eta: I realize there is split revenue. Just illustrating a point. Bama is not gonna lose out because of a few million dollars per year

PBJ would probably take all of the reserves out of Bryant Bank.

I don't think Texas is going to outbid Alabama. If you haven't noticed, they're mostly full of shite. All hat, no cattle as we say in Texas.

Colorado State is older than the U of Colorado.

Kansas State is older than U of Kansas.

New Mexico St. is older than the Univ. of New Mexico.

There are others.

That shite is meaningless.

You can't include branch campuses in endowment even if they are 100% part of A&M.

Those are the rules.

Theres a little ego involved. His dad is still the greatest Bama coach. Saban could end that

Whatever makes you sleep better. That guy chases the money, that's a fact.

He was terrible in the NFL, so he went back to what he was great at, once the price was right for him.

Could he have stayed in Miami and make more? More than likely but being the perfectionist he is, he wanted to be known for what he's good at. So once Alabama tossed out a number he was cool with, that's where he went.

If that's the case, he wouldn't have left LSU.

Also, Saban's silence says a lot. At least to me.

Guess we'll see.

Agreed. The name of your school is meaningless. It is when you were established that matters. We're the older and larger institution, little bro.

Have fun hosting Iowa State and Kansas this season. Badass home schedule awaits CNS!

Not that I think that this is a 100% confirmation that he is staying, but I doubt he is going to take time to address the issue when he is busting his arse on the recruiting trail.

You have to factor in who has the most OT baller boosters also. I figure UT has a gaggle just drenched in oil money.
