I read Meat Market about coach O while he was the coach at Ole Miss

Any ole miss fans have any info on what the players thought of coach O when he challenged the whole team to a fight on his first time meeting them? I laughed my arse off when he said he took his shirt off and said any of you motherfrickers want a piece of me? Coach O has come a long way from that time.

Had a buddy who was a walk on under Cutcliffe. First team meeting Coach O had he said "raise your hand if you're a walk on. Alright, get the frick out. You're not on the team anymore". Needless to say my buddy hated him from that point on
The players from everything I heard loved him. He was a hard arse and tried to run everything himself. That's a big reason he failed.

I always remember seeing Ole Miss jacked up as hell in the tunnel before running on the field in a Tiger Stadium. He had that team believing they could beat LSU that night and they almost did. We had to tie the game as clock expires to win in overtime.

I bet Coach Eaux slobbered all over the room that day. Legendary shite

I know a player who was in the room. Said they all looked at each other and said WTF. Craziest shite he’d ever seen in his life.

He made the team practice in the indoor facility during a lightning delay against Missouri in 2006-2007

That was a crazy good game. Should have never been that close though. Didn’t understand how we could perform so badly against a bad team

Typical Less team playing down to competition. I remembered that game and knew CEO would be 100x the coach Miles was in 2016

quote:so from the record he compiled at ole miss you knew he’d be a better coach then miles in 2016? Get the frick out of here

CEO inherited basically no SEC talent at OM other than Patrick Willis and nearly pantsed Less with his veteran, highly ranked team. He built a monster roster at OM, just didn't quite get the signature win he needed. Context matters

One of my friends in high school little brother was a WR that was on scholarship. O said he was a Cutcliffe guy and would never play. He quit the team then came back once Orgeron was gone. I’m sure you can figure out who I’m talking about. They hate Orgeron. Now, I’m not sure how exactly it went down but his family is a long time supporter of Ole Miss. Whatever the case, he’s obviously grown a lot as a coach since then

You mean the ole miss wildboyz?

At OM, CEO had several chances for a signature win with a very young, talented team: 2006 UGA, Auburn and LSU and 2007 Florida and Bama. He was building something from basically nothing, as the next two OM seasons with Nutt proved. Ridiculous to just look at his overall W-L there.
