Is this you simply revealing you don't understand SoS and how a strong, respected conference can help teams make the cut into a NY6 bowl or CFPs when all other things are equal?
Like it or not, the eye test is a factor. Hard to gauge how strong a 1 pt upset victory over a good team is when the other 11 games are barely against anyone with a pulse.
That said, frick AU and UTk! Are therr times when them winning a game could be advantageous for Bama, yes. Am I ever not happy when they lose, no.

I always pull for conference teams against outside teams. Stronger the conference appears, the better for all.
